I read on the internet somewhere on Sunday, an article stating that the Swans got their bye preperation wrong and went into the game against Port with "heavy Legs". I have tried in vain to find it again but have been unable to find it. Did anybody else read it and is it creditable?

That will be difficult... I am sadly working Friday and have no chance of getting to Sydney

However as my hands are no longer tied in another sense perhaps I shall travel up for a game or two in the not to distant future.

If our team doctor was any good he'd have dismembered our long list of injured players and put together at least 3 good ones from the parts. How hard can it be ?

Height of Mummy, speed of Jetta, flair of Goodes, versatility of LRT, risk-taking of Shaw, kicking of Everitt, marking of Reid, defensive skills of AJ and redness of Rohan. Blend body parts with 3 litres of wet concrete . Spray a few hormones and add one bull scrotum for courage. Transfer mixture to a large cauldron, boil over a moderate heat for 3 days while stirring continuously, stuff mixture into horse intestines, microwave for 30 seconds, paint some eyes and voila.....Frankenswan. A shoe-in for the Brownlow.

Wrong? Yeah it would of been the scorecard

Would like to see Membrey come in for Goodes, only if Everitt doesn't pull up. Yes it might've happened in the TAC Cup, but the kid loves the big stage. 14 or 15 goals in 3 finals matches last year, including 8 in the qualifying final. I think he could step up into that 3rd tall forward role.

Where a chance (we always are) against a desperate Blues outfit keen to take a big scalp in 2013. Blues have had the bye and will be fresh and ready to go. We have a 6 day turn around after a tough game at AAMI and a injury list that includes 8 premiership players. Really need our midfield core to stand up and Tippett to fire up forward. Swans by 1 point.

What's the standard like in TAC Cup?

Half of our best 22 isn't available, don't blame the player blame the game.

I blame Kurt Tippett.

Damn him. Damn him to hell I say.

Oh...

In - Someone or other

Out - Goodes, since he is listed a week then I expect a simple amputation just above the knee. Not the double full leg removal a 4-6 weeker would entail.

While I agree using the word hate is harsh I definitely think Armstrong has to go, and it has nothing to do with any alleged "group think" mentally. I struggle to remember a decent disposal, etched in my memory however is him kicking it straight to Port forwards in our defensive 50, kicking it to the back of Mini Mouse's head, and kicking it out on the full. And yeah, can't tackle.

I think for now we should assume there will be no returning players from injury this weekend, as only Everitt was a maybe to return, which most likely means multiple weeks. If Dre doesn't return, I would personally like to see Bird shifted to defence to clamp down on one the Carlton small forwards. He can tackle and use the ball so it's going to be a big step up from Armstrong, I just feel like we need some experience down back this weekend.

We also have more players that can fill a Bird type half forward roll. I'm thinking a Jack, Membrey, Towers or Lloyd. Could Lloyd come in as a midfielder / half forward? He seems absent from discussions on here recently but I thought of those mentioned he showed the most in the nab cup.

Out: Armstrong, Goodes, White
In: Lloyd, Jack, Towers (sub).

Bird to defence, Tippett second ruck if fit enough. Lamb starts.

That could be too many changes though and if we need Jesse in the side to help ruck then so be it, much more impartial to him playing than Armstrong.

P.s Bird probably won't be thrown back though so if that's the case and there's no Dre then I'd like to see Harry Cunningham given a go over Armstrong.

Good post fair enough each to their own opinion, me personally, I found the vitriol thrown at Armstrong unwarranted.
He is a good player, great user of the ball and reads the play well that's why we have persisted with him setting up play down back, however at times he has shown weaknesses so I can see why some are concerned.
He has skills, he's not slow and bleeds red and white I hope we persist with him.
Maybe bring him up to a wing, personally Id like to see him play the traditional half forward flank role and use his pinpoint kicking to take shots at goal, take a bit of pressure off him and let him ply his trade, use his skills and give him confidence and he would be great at the feet of Tippett.
Pretty sure when at Adelaide I saw him play a few games forward and was very apt at turning defenders inside out.
Through no fault of his own and in case anyone hasent noticed we have had a very poor run with injury down back and he has been thrown into the deep end and is really having a red hot crack, his 'grooming' stage has been fast tracked.
Im not saying he is killing it but **** me give him a break on this site, like Disgruntled Goat said earlier, he is one of our own and doing his best 'hate' is a very nasty word and when it comes from our own supporters it says more about them than him..

I fully understand your sentiment to not rip into players too early, however this is his 6th year on an AFL list. He's actually had a fair bit of grooming time.
