And flat track bullies crush teams on the bottom of the ladder with ease ;)

The Melbourne game has left some scars though - we struggle to find that higher gear that you see Melbourne, Geelong, Tigers go into to take control of the game.

Yeah we struggle to fully capitalise when we’re on top. Would be great to see us do what we did to GWS in the first quarter to a genuine premiership contender.

Not sure I agree with this. We did kick 4 goals to 1 in the last and he could barely move before getting subbed off.

There were many reasons we played well in the last quarter but Oscar was very good in the early part of it despite being hobbled. Pretty confident he came off with about 5-8 minutes to go after which we scored one goal and fullarton got dominated by Hawkins inside f50 setting up the isaac smith goal (to be fair, Oscar hasn't proved he can handle hawkins there either).

Watching at the ground it was really noticeable as we had magically evened up clearance and groundball in the 4th quarter after being battered the first 3.

I'm not saying Oscar is a world beater (and I know he is your new least favourite lion) but I think considering the circumstances of his injury and with FUllarton backing him up, he battled hard that game and we missed him when he couldn't go any more.

Think the Melbourne game has taught them some really important lessons rather than leaving any scars. Good teams learn from their mistakes and I have no doubt the club would take huge positives from that game. As much as this game tonight is an important one, I want our boys to start playing their best footy in late August more much more than now. Providing they compete tonight they are a real chance of winning the game but even if they don't, its not a time to think we struggle to beat sides above us on the ladder. It still a long way away from finals.

Afl app suggests it was about 7 minutes into the 4th after we’d kicked the first 2 of the quarter and Coleman played 13% TOG so probably around then. Oscar only had one hit out in the last. Stanley had more hit outs and 16 more disposals. My memory was Oscar battled hard but wasn’t influential.

My memory is probably reacting to the drop off from Oscar rucking to Fullarton then, but regardless in a reasonably average season from him it does stand out.

Keidean has to up his involvement tonight when he gets on the field, it's a mystery to me why he only played 50% game time last week(anyone know if that is normal for Kiddy?), he's look a tad laid back this stint back in the seniors, I would have preferred Tom Berry for this game.

Last 4 TOG % for Coleman: 76, 71, 82, 46
So last week was a big drop for some reason
He retained his spot so maybe he had a slight injury we were not aware of

I feel we've left him in for this game because he's role will be to lay tackles on Stewart and Toohey in particular if he can . I'd much prefer Ah Chee in that role but he's probably needed back. McStay and Kiddy have important roles the way Geelong have been launching attacks of recent times. Charlie and McCarthy as well. Well let's face it ,all of them.

Was mentioned on the Roar Deal today that this is the first time Adams has strung 12 games together, think he can be judged a bit harshly at times but hopefully with a good stretch of games now he can start to show how good he can really be consistently

Will have to keep myself very busy today or else it will be a loooooong day.
I hope the boys put in a better performance than the Prelim but I have no doubt that they will.

In round 2, from only 270 disposals for the game we still managed 51 inside 50 entries so if we can get our hands on the ball a bit more we are definitely in with a shot.
Lions by plenty.
But 1 point will do.
I think they will also.

Geelong had a couple of tough games recently against top sides. Bookies think Lions will win currently $170. Geelong $2.20

Interesting to see if someone is given the job on Stewart(my preferred option)
Not too worried about tackling the guy just need someone to stop his mostly unopposed intercept marking

If we lose tonight it will indicate that we are flat track bullies. Apart from Port, who are flat track bullies, we have lost against the top sides.

I worry about our defence as the loss of Gardiner, then Lester and Payne, leaves us with few options if one of their forwards gets off the lease.

Negative Phil I am. Not confident at all.

Go Lions
would you feel a little more confident knowing that the bookies have Lions at $1.70 favourites as of 3.15pm today
