Something else I’ll say is Port did their usual MO against us of trying to beat us up, and physically dominate. First time I’ve really seen our boys come out on top in that regard - seems like their players were going off with minor injuries constantly and ours were getting up after every contest and kept running

The Dalions curse has been broken! 💪
Bloody emphatic way to end the duck.
Adelaide Oval is definitely a class above.
Thought the Port fans were interesting today, the crowd appeared more interested in talking amongst themselves than watching the game.

Went for a pee and a beer at 1/4 time and the pouty looks on the Port fans faces was absolutely priceless and as though their whole world had come crashing down and that was when they were still in the game.

At half time the talk had moved very quickly to sack Hinkley and their world was over.

Really enjoyed the game, loved the Stadium and happy to break the duck.

Onto the Dees next week who just kicked us out of the 8, we will have to do the same to them next week and return the favour.

It's a weird feeling coz we rarely keep our foot down even when going well in the last few years.

Looks like players are trying to make up for all the losses earlier this season and are going hard regardless of the scoreline. I like this new Brisbane Lions, this is a lot more fun to watch :)
I've been waiting for us to do it for years. We are not ruthless enough.

Hurry up AFL website and post The Round So Far. I like Kane Cornes most of the time but I can't wait to watch him squirm and tie himself in hypocritical knots defending Ken Hinkley when he'd be excoriating him if he coached any other club.

Not to mention his incredible Todd Marshall defence. Wonder if Eric Hipwood will get a mention...

It's good to be feeling good about our footy again. Really great performance all round and love seeing Hippy continue to dial it in. Big O, well, is that his best game for us? At least to my memory it would have to be close.

Still feeling a bit meh with McKenna but when you win like that, just roll with it. I hope we're not rushing Ashcroft back and feel sorry for whoever gets dropped. Those corkies to Kai looked pretty bad so maybe he'll get a rest.

How good is Logan Morris, geez I really enjoy watching him play. It's amazing that just a few weeks back he was just an academy boy my daughter got an autograph at school from. Cemented his position and cult status.

We have found the scoring lever finally, even without Charlie needing to do much at all. Charlie is starting to enjoy being in the team and playing well than carry the weight on his shoulders to kick goals.

I believe he'll find the bag of goals in the last half of this season/finals hopefully and that'll make us complete.

Midfield is starting to look awesome with Berry/Dunkley dual defensive punch letting Hugh and Lachie run around carefree. BigO did whatever he pleased, he hopefully goes in with the same mindset against Gawn and Grundy.

Overall it was a fun game to watch and WAshcroft will enjoy coming back into this in form team.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but one of the better boards on the hellscape is the tigers board. They just post funny comments and memes like this one yesterday.

Port fans are actually disgusting, abusing Fagan for supporting Hinkley and calling out the supporters for booing.

What was he supposed to, not answer the question?
Chris Fagan is a good man...anyone who could find reason not to respect his response to the booing of Ken is seriously flawed as a human being.

Yep, in spite of his shortcomings around rotating players, backing a core to whom he's extremely loyal to a fault, all other in game changes shortcomings - we can't take away the fact that we lucked out having a honest, straight shooting grandpa at the helm.

Considering the mayhem going on at other clubs, Fagan leading us with a stable hand is a luxury for us.

That was so enjoyable, how to silence the crowd.
Great to see hippy bang on target, certainly takes some pressure off him going forward.
Rayner , another good game maybe just one flaw but he made up for it pretty much straight away.
Great moment from him in the front half ,bull at the gate shame he missed the goal, but if he does the team stuff ,plays his role and provides these super efforts a couple times a game then I think he’s finally made it.
For mind if he can do it often enough then he’s capable of tapping into it to change a game when we need it.
I thought Oscar started a bit reactive.
He let the other ruckman get there first only getting a knee up into him. Exactly what happened against Gawn a couple years ago and gave a free away.
Turned that around and went the ball so much better, ended up being one of his best games.
Pretty much every thing has been said already, great game and dominated the ferrels.
What are we 7 wins, 6 more out of 9 will get us at least 8th , 7 more could get us 6th or 7th.
That’s getting too far ahead right but it’s a good feeling.

Listened to the 5AA callback and they are nearly all deluded. Just because you think you should be the best, doesn't mean you will be the best. Also, absolutely no respect for the Lions.
For example, Carlton dominated the VFL for 30 years until their 1995 premiership, but then struggled to be competitive in a sustained way until mid last year. That's nearly 30 years of mediocrity and it took Vossy to sort them out. Even then they wanted to sack Voss early last year.
Not saying that Ken shouldn't go at the end of the year if things go badly, but it won't be the magic elixir for a premiership.

Wrote this over half a decade ago. Still rings true. Groundhog day shit.

We've got the power to win,
the power to rule
But we have a mental condition

We will cower from all,
we're a bore and we're dull
We kill all our players' ambition

We'll never sack sack sack
The useless hack hack hack
It's history here that we're wasting

We've got the talent to win
But our coach is real dim
Our tradition is what we're breaking Power!

Found this gem on PA page.

Thought our boys kept their eyes on the football regardless of what was coming. Port on the other hand didn’t, often taking the odd short step or fumbling the ball. They are faux tough.

At stages port looked more interested in inflicting injury than playing footy.

We tried it a few times - went for the bump on Aliir instead of gong for the ball. Stupid - can't effectively bump a brick wall.

One of the better signs from yesterday was seeing Bailey, McKenna and Rayner starting to find some form and confidence. All three play their best on instinct and you could see in recent times they were doubting themselves a bit and were low on confidence. Yesterday they all seemed to find their groove instinctively particularly as the game went on.

Port have tried that for the last 5 years starting in the Adelaide Oval game in 2019 where they smashed Lachie every chance they got.

Didn’t work then and a sign to me that for all of Hinkley’s being a nice guy that he isn’t a great coach.

There is tough in the contest and then there’s the fake tough which is what Port are good at. They push and shove them crumble when it gets tough.

The minute they face a team with talent and toughness they bottle it
