Your right.

As shown by the Richmond, Carlton, Hawthorn and ANZAC day games, dump kicking it to a wall of opposition players lined up across the middle of the ground is a far more effective option.
My right what?

Sorry, yeah, get caught in the corridor, open up the leading angles and give away a goal.

Play on.

FMD guys, it's not such a bad thing to scold a player for being a deer in the headlights.

Watching Worsfold's presser it was a pretty impressive performance. Myers and Stringer both playing through injury and RAMbrose off early. They over ran us in the end. They were good in patches, but take the lack of run at the end as well as umpires styming our play all day, despite not walking away with the points, I think Essendon was better on the day. Just not that much better so we couldn't overcome those extra challenges.

As in, we played them injured?

awesome turnaround from Anzac day - kept up with them for the better part of 3 and a bit quarters. really missed Fantasia’s leadership and presence in the forward line.

Clearly had a few almost moments where our best 22 would’ve handled things better but we have injuries and our depth is just okay at the moment.

umpiring was about as fair as juvenile diabetes but seems to be par for the course these days.

I understand player will be caught trying to create a play. But being caught while gaping around for an option on the spot isn't a good look.

I'm sorry you will settle for less and cop that kind of shit. I don't think it's a good look for two players on the fringe.

Eh. Shit happens.

Being brave with the ball and backing himself is what's got him into the side, I'm happy for him to keep backing himself in as long as he learns from it.

Disagree actually. Thought we tackled well, but Collingwood tackled better. They got their hands free more and they trapped our space better than we did. We weren't allowed to run forward much today

Feels like when we got tackled well our instinct is to still try get the ball free, often getting pinged for a throw or drop. When they got tackled well they hold it in to halve the contest (or force an in the back or too high)

nah, what about Smith's tackle on Maynard, perfect tackle. Maynard complained that it was dangerous, got the free. He had the choice to srop the ball but, no, it's apparently the tackler's responsibility to allow the tackled player to hang onto the ball while the tackler places him gently to the ground.

Oh man, what a reaming by the umps in that first half and that 50 at the end just topped it off.
They missed some sitters for the pies to, just terrible terrible umpiring, all 3 should be in the magoos next week.

It was still to be won there in the last 15 minutes and the pies leaders stepped up and we couldn't match them. Pendles, Sidebum and Grundy got them going in the middle and De Goey was finishing the goals, if we even split the center clearances in that time, we could have won.
Still think we can get a good run and win a lot of our remaing games but time to play some kids. Francis and Ridley in for Goddard and Ambrose. Give Mutch another go and see what happens.

I've lost my voice from yelling so much!

Smith's tackle was a free to them. He slung to the pinned side. It was right in front of me.
Disagree. Maynard made the choice not to let go of the ball. Even the commentators thought that he caused the danger by refusing to let go of the ball.

Most frustrating thing for me is that game was finals like. We stood toe to toe with a finals side and were ontop for 3 qtrs.

We would give a good account of our selves in finals this year imo, we are a finals team but won't make it because of that early wretched form.

Probably have a top 10 draft pick to add to the side this year. We could even see Francis and Laverde do a full preseason. Then there is Daniher, Zaka and Gleeson to add to this team. I also think Stewart was our barometer last year.

Add all that to our side, plus the progression of a number of Kids, and add it to the kick in the guts this season should be to the team and I back us to be a very good side next year.

We have been very good at the stoppages in the last month. We struggled today after our midfield ran out of legs with Guelfi and Myers not being part of the rotations.

What could he have done if he released the ball? Put his hand down and potentially break his wrist whilst not actually protecting his head at all. The side he was slung to was the side where his arm was pinned. 100% a free against Smith
