I'm just peeved that it's always in either Arabic or Chinese....

Why not in German or French as well?
Those countries don't fill our hearts with that PR warmth.

Plus the French are cheese eating, surrender monkeys.

I know, but every time it's "multicultural round" it always seems to be about the Chinese or about Baschar Houli.

Or Adam Goodes.

If it's going to be "multicultural round" then the league needs to be embrace all cultures, not just the Islamic, Asian or Indigenous cultures.

Anyway it's not the thread for it so I'll leave it at that.

Probably an arguable point, but I believe it's based purely on the region we're in globally, and the profile of people most likely to either live in Australia and/or watch footy.

We're in the Asian region of the globe, it makes sense to market the game to them in a multicultural sense. The indigenous people.. well that's common sense really, and since people who identify as having Muslim faith are the most likely to be scrutinized and included in society, it probably looks good for the league to market a round "just for them".

Not necessarily saying I agree with anything I said, or the concept of a multicultural round targeted towards a specific set of people but I get it.

That's pretty much it. If, for example, there was a focus on eskimo/Inuit culture, what would be the point? Nobody in the League heralds from the Arctic (as far as I'm aware) and I daresay the Australian population of Inuit immigrants would be miniscule. So the AFL focuses on the cultures within its sphere of influence.

French and German essentially use the same alphabet as English (Germanic/Latin language group)

French alphabet is exactly the same as English (26 letters from A to Z) except some letters are pronounced differently

Also being at the game I thought name on the Suns jumpers looked good, probably because of no curvy thingy on top of their back

Was going to make this exact same point. The scripts are different.

Most players seemed to have English names, so I went with that.
Had there been a predominance of some other language I would have copied the Google translate into Illustrator.
The Chinese on this one translates to PLAYER NAME

Oh, yeah, there's that.

There's about 4 I added that might not, technically, be in the original.
Some sideways, some the right way up

I can also spot a "we are kidding ourselves" and something about nonsense. Top shelf Mero!

It's probably the next step. The AFL seems to be upping the ante a little more each year.

The positive thing about the "we are" jumpers is that it was hardly noticeable and didn't interfere with the design the negative was that it was hardly noticeable and didn't interfere with the design which ment it still looked liked GC home Guernsey
