Really torn with what to do with my team:

I’ve got the VC on Touk but that’s been offset with CCJ’s 5 and Madden’s injury.

If F.Macrea makes the final 22 I’ll take him at F6. If not, here’s what I’m thinking:
Docherty > Marshall via dpp or any other forward <$482k.

This will leave Bianco as D6 and 4 trades remaining.
Here’s another option I’ve just come across:

Will mean that Bramble/Newcombe/Bianco will be M8 for this week.

Playing a bloke who hasn't touched his team since round 1, so have the game locked up.

No need to trade, but wondering if it is worth freeing up some cash to go:

L.Jones > Bramble

Anything else I should be considering with this team?

I‘m in exactly the same situation. But 8 trades left. I was going to go Kosi to Brambles and Heeney to Danger, but CCJ dying has given me cold feet.
Think I will still get Brambles, as playing (for now) 102k rookies are hard to come by.
Fully expecting Danger to go big now….

Hasn't had a sustained run of scoring this season .....I'm still wary of Haynes
I’m only looking at him because I have limited trades and want to get Danger next week using only one.

Haynes doesn’t even get me to that point as it currently stands as I want to use CCJ to do it. If Danger stinks it up big time it could happen, otherwise Highmore could get it done but I’d prefer to keep him at D7 at this point.

I can afford any defender however if I scrap this plan. I currently have Laird, Mills, Whitfield, Stewart and Ridley as the other 5. I have half an eye on the Gull, also eyeing off Houston a fair bit… Decisions, decisions.

Doc > Houston

Haynes scares me. Worst case I get Marshall instead of Danger.

Another edit - Math doesn’t work. Tempted to say **** it and get the Gull or Rich.

Doch to Houston for me too. Don’t trust Salem.
it’s infuriating me that I can’t just go Impey to Danger -$400 short.

Have to use both trades tonight
Ok, this has reaffirmed to me that Houston is the move.

Might **** over any Danger plans here as well, but ah well. It is what it is.

Meh

Impey to Danger
Jones to Foley

Foley has looked really good but probably sits right on the cusp of the team. Still, he looks a better option than Walker.

A few days I posted "no trades" and that I would only trade Impey if/when neither Madden or Briggs could fill the F6 spot. I hoped they could bring me closer to the end of the season to preserve my 2 remaining trades, but they only lasted a couple of days.

So it's eat a donut this week and who knows how many in future, or trade Impey.

When setting up my initial team I made a list of about 28 premos that I was determined my final 22 starters would come from. So far I've stuck to that and let no outsiders in and I feel my team has been the better for it. Unfortunately, due to injuries the only forward premos left on that list are Danger and Punchable and I can't really consider injury and suspension prone Punchable with pretty much no trades left. So that leaves Danger.

Unfortunately there is only one possible way to trade Impey and a rookie to Danger. That's Jones > Brandon Walker and Impey > Danger. I'm tempted to do it as it keeps faith with my original premo plan, but it leave me with no trades and pretty horrible bench cover, especially in the ruck (just Reeves). It would also leave me with very shaky options for F6 (CCJ, Madden, Briggs and Brockman, none of whom are certain to play.

A safer option would be to trade out Impey and Reeves and bring either Edwards and Lobb or McKay and Amartey. Take out McKay's injury game and he averages close to 85 and is priced about 100k under that. Alternatively I could trade Impey to the best affordable forward mid/premo and keep the trade to fix cover later.

So....

Option 1: Impey>Tex/Naughton/Stringer/DCameron/Daniher/Lobb/McKay - worry about affording to fix cover later - 1 trade left

Option 2: Jones>BWalker & Impey>Danger - No trades left - Def cover: BWalker, Madden, Briggs - Mid cover: Bramble, Newcombe, HSharp, BWalker*, Madden*, Briggs*(* via Laird to mids) - Ruck cover: Reeves - Danger F5 - F6 and Fwd cover: CCJ, Madden, Briggs, Brockman

Option 3: Reeves>JEdwards & Impey>Lobb - No trades left - Lobb F5 - Def cover: Jones, Madden, Briggs - Mid cover: Bramble, Newcombe, HSharp, Jones*, Madden*, Briggs*(* via Laird to mids) - Ruck cover: Lobb, CCJ, JEdwards - F6 and Fwd cover: CCJ, Madden, Briggs, Brockman

Option 4: Reeves>Amartey & Impey>McKay - No trades left - McKay F5 - Def cover: Jones, Madden, Briggs - Mid cover: Bramble, Newcombe, HSharp, Jones*, Madden*, Briggs*(* via Laird to mids) - Ruck cover: CCJ, Amartey - F6 and Fwd cover: CCJ, Madden, Briggs, Amartey, Brockman

Nothing can be perfect with so few trades left but I feel it's better to use that last trade to improve bench cover than to save it for a one of replacement of a fallen premo. Saving a trade can only replace one injured premo while better bench cover can help survive several fallen premos. That being the case I prefer options 3 and 4 as they give ruck cover. Of course I could stay true to my original premo plan, go with option 1 and pray Gawn and Grundy stand up.

I'd be grateful for any and all opinions or alternatives.

Only use 1 trade. A cheaper forward is better than a donut next week (possibly)

Would love to help, but a screenshot of your team + $ bank would be infintely easier to look at.

Yes I think you're right. Favouring Impey>McKay this week giving $100k in the bank and a remaining trade. Then see what happens next week. Madden and Briggs could be back, CCJ could hold his place if the injury is minor and even Reeves could play if Ceglar has a stinker. He played really well in the Hawks VFL game last weekend.

Yes it was a wall of text. Sorry about that :)

Cheers.

Such a good starting 22 before the Impey, Briggs, Madden, CCJ s**t show.

The lack of M/F's in your midfield is a killer.

I'd take Option 1 over 3 definitely. Save a trade, you're gonna need it for that midfield. If you lose one of those, swing a Zorko/Sidey/Dusty into mids to make the DP connection and get Danger then.
If youre sold on 2 trades, Option 2 over option 4.

I may have to read up on that loophole about moving players around without using a trade. Maybe it could result in Madden to forwards, Sharp to defence and Brockman to mids.

I used it. Works a treat.
Need 2 trades available to do it, but dont lose any once done.
