Thanks....for nothing. It was a genuine question.

Does anyone know?

From the Sydney Swans Facebook page:

"The Sydney Swans will today wear black armbands to honour of the passing of lifelong bloods supporter Alexander (Lex) Stubbs.

Lex, the father of Melbourne radio personality and Swans ambassador Peter ‘Grubby’ Stubbs, passed away in Brisbane on Thursday.

Lex saw both the Bloods 1933 and 2005 premierships, while his father... saw South Melbourne claim the flag in 1909 and 1918."

Breaks my heart when I get up at 5am after 4 hours sleep, find that there's no live stream, and then have to sit here listening to MMM as the Swans slip further and further behind.

I am so glad I sucked back too much French Champagne last night and got up to find the game had finished. I warned that Melbourne could beat us if it clicked for them but not by this much. Glad I didn't have to listen to it.

I'm taking my hangover back to bed and snoozing until 2019 (Year of the Swans)

Thanks for that. :thumbsu:

Looks like I'll have to add the Swans page on Facebook. :D

Goodes was a shining light with Hannebery, McGlynn, Malceski and perhaps Jack. The way Pyke ran in and kicked that goal I swore he would miss. But kicked truely. Continues to improve. White took nearly all his opportunities, so cannot asked much more than that.

We didn't pressure the ball carrier enough. We allowed Melbourne to get easy possessions which is why they were able to deliver most of the time pressure free. Once they were on a roll, it was impossible to stop.

We were very poor.

Meredith might have given a goal away for running too far, but it would have helped if a few of his team-mates ran for him. Mattner was the closest, and stood still watching Meredith. Was never a viable option and wasted his time even being there. Shocker. There was a fair bit of this today.

People keep harping on about speed. Our MAIN issue is not how fast our leg speed is... it is how fast we move the footy in a progressive manner. We are too often going sideways with 2-3m handpasses. We need a LONG pass into space to get the ball moving fast. It is NOT our legspeed but our poor ball movement that is killing us.

That combined with our lack of defensive pressure, and lack of helping one another on the field (blood ethos) contributed to this disaster today.

The commentators kept going on about Melbourne having a couple of players out (and how much more they would have won by if they were in!!). Without mentioning the senior players we are missing off every line.
However, I won't allow injuries to be an excuse, because every player can give 100% but only a few can claim they did today.

Well **** that.

And bedfords going to have a field day with his pet hates, both of them were woeful today.

In Fact Moore got lined up today by the opposition, it was very clear that whoever had Moore on them when they were running out of defense was instructed to run forward and present and succeeded nearly every time., it was a clear tactic and sorry a major concern. It could be forgiven if he had a good conversion rate in front of goal but he does not.

The whole commentary team is having multiple orgasms over Melbourne.

Even in one-sided games, I expect better. Maybe not from a clown like Schwartz, but certainly from the likes of Bwuce and Commetti.

The 'commentary' was truly disgusting. It was like a 3 hour Demons membership drive.....ridiculous bias, crossing to Jim Stynes every 5 minutes to soak up the glory, a few Melbourne-Geelong comparisons, constant marvelling at how Melbourne have turned things around, what a wonderful style of football they play and what a great future they have.....good on them, but it was all laid on pretty bloody thick.

Oh yes, blame one or two guys for what was clearly a deficient performance all round. The side as a whole failed to show Melbourne enough respect, and kept waiting for the moment they would run off their opponent, like last week.

Blame Moore and Mcveigh all you like, doesn't mean shit IMO. Accept a loss against a team that is on the rise, and work out who failed in their duties. We were beaten across the park (aside from Goodes and White) and deserved to lose.

Perhaps we shouldn't "experiment" next week...

Don't worry mate, much of it shitted me off too so I know where you are coming from. Apart from seeing a healthy Jimmy which is always a sight for Dees fans I thought the commentary was over the top and Commetti can get ****ed. Throughout '08 and '09 when we struggled and were getting pantsed Commetti loved putting the boot in and mocking a young side making mistakes almost to the point where the others had to shut him up - he found it insatiable. Now he's blowing wind up our ass. I also know what it is like when your team gets thumped and the commentators make it even harder to watch.

Im blaming 19 guys for today's loss, really only Goodes, McGlyynn and White are excused.

And Im not really blaming Moore for effort just that it was a clear strategy to abuse his lack of pace when removing it from our forward line. Not fixing that problem belongs upstairs, not with Moore.

There were many rumour's of McVeigh being injured and hios perfomance suggested it might be the case. Again a coaching error to play him if he was not up to it.
