Andrews particularly and Daniher will be locks if they maintain their current form.

Neale needs a big finish to get in but will make the squad. Dunkley is an unfashionable player as far as AA's go but if there's any justice should make the squad.

Cameron was a lock until his form fell off a cliff. Was almost unbeatable in one on ones now the ball seems to get swept away more often than not. No idea what the reason is. He still bobs up and contributes.

Just catching up with the terrible news of young Will's confirmed ACL..

..footy gods can be cruel at times. Feel so sorry for the poor kid.....but as has been mentioned, you just know he will be super professional in his recovery and will take his time and not rush things..

That last 10 minutes of the game (for me anyway) was more stressful than last week I reckon...I was a nervous wreck that it was happening all over again so turned tv down, sat at the computer and watched the AFL fixture scores instead. I let out a huge NO when Cats got that last goal....and like an idiot, I'm talking to the computer, well yelling actually, blow the bloody siren, when it got to 30mins. They did just after, thank goodness.:embarrassedv1:

..oh the joy of being a footy fan:smilev1:

So would a fit firing Michael Voss
Good one NB, LOL, I don't think the Blues would release him.

I have not given up on Zorko yet, been down but he only needs to string 3 good games together in September and he could be the difference maker, he is IMO one of the best Lions players of this century.

Cameron no chance.

Unfortunately hasn't been near it for nearly 2 months.

We desperately need him to find form ASAP.

I’m confident Charlie will be in excellent form come finals.

I haven't given up on him either because he's a champ and could be setting himself for one last campaign.

But there are worrying signs as you'd expect from a 35yo. I've never brought in to the Zorks has brainfades all the time nutjobs but having a crack at the ump when you have the ball in your back half less than 2 goals up with a couple of minutes on the clock has to be up there.

A few saying that Zorko was ordinary last night, IMO while certainly not at his best I thought he was ok, only 15 disposals but took 5 marks, made 6 tackles and he put on decent pressure.

Likely needs a run of games to get back to near his best at his age, a fit and firing Zorko by finals would be a serious weapon for us.

Really needs to stop with the temper tantrums though especially with the Umps

Agree, however I do think the umpires are now over sensitive with Zorks as they have a preconceived view that he will be abusive to them, he doesn't get away with things that most others do IMO.

That's true.

They are clearly aware that pinging him for anything is going to be popular with most of the punters and the media.

Unfortunately Zork's now has a reputation as a sniper/whinger which I agree he has partly contributed to but not as bad as made out on here and in the media IMO. He has the problem that perception is so often reality in the way others/umpires view him.

Something that was obvious at the game was that Zorko is not only on the nose with supporters but I'd say a few players as well. There was numerous occasions where he was snubbed, walked and stood alone while others were huddled... And this was early in the game. At one stage some walked straight past him... Just a weird vibe.

Him gobbing off to the umpire at the end was right in front of us. Just sheer stupidity from him. We had the ball and there was a minute left on the clock. Just shut your mouth and play out the game. Don’t give them a chance to pay a free kick. No one to blame but himself for that.

Poor disposals, gifted several shots at goal and only had two score involvements. Yeah his pressure was good but his good did not outweigh the bad. We need a lot more from him as an on field leader. Captain or not.

I'd bet that numerous other players could have said the same thing as Zorko said and it wouldn't have been a reversed free kick.

Would you be dropping him for the Suns game Nunez?

One of those 2 score involvements was pretty important, I think he was the one that hooked that ball into the corridor when Ah Chee took that magnificent mark in the 4th quarter and then slotted the goal.

Yeah possibly, although again he’s built up his own reputation (rightly or wrongly) and as a leader of the team, in a close game like that he must realise he needs to be better there, although by now in all likelihood he won’t change so 🤷‍♂️.

If I recall correctly, Cal Bartlett was named to make his debut for the Lions but did his ACL in the last training session before the game.

He might have done an ACL three times.

I know we had high hopes for him but he had a wretched time with that injury so never got to play an AFL game.

Always felt really sorry for him.
Did it at Aspley.

If Will didn't get injured and Bailey was fit, absolutely. At this stage I feel he's better off as a sub and equally think we're better off being more proactive using our subs.

Zorko gets hit late and high in centre of ground of the ground with about ten minutes to go in the match. He still took the mark but it should have been a 50 metre penalty. He gets up plays on and delivers the ball perfectly into the forward line. It is probably his last season but he is easily in our best 23. I am expecting him to be a match winner come September
