Thanks gadzorks really needed you to argue with me on that right now

Was actually trying to make the misery hole we are in a little broader and shallower. Shared experience and all that.

It just made me more miserable to be honest. West Coast haven’t lost a generational young talent for 12 months.

Glup Shitto doing his hammy at West Coast doesn’t make us losing our best young talent at the club any easier to swallow.

Seriously, injecting McKenna and Wilmot and having the luxury of Kiddy as a roaming defender , with Lester showing form beyond whatever envisaged is a completely different look to what we've ever had since Fagan took over . With Payne and Andrews as keys and Starc as a tough back pocket this is a premiership level defence.

We know it doesn't often convert to that but this is as potent a defence as any in the game.
Adam Simpson said we had the best organised defence in the competition and he was right. Love watching Lester not only playing his role perfectly, but out there directing traffic and supporting the decision making of his team mates. I have said it before, but Lester will make a great coach.

I'm sorry I added to your distress. I don't know what else to say.

It is horrible, and it was a minor looking incident.

I believe Will is the most likely person ever to come back better after a 12 month training block.

That doesn't help now, but we still have over a decade to watch and wonder at the future brownlow medalist.

As a topic change off the Ashcroft sadness, would you think these guys are all in AA running:

Andrews (locked in)
Payne (Outside chance)
Neale (because its Neale)
McCluggage (outside chance)
Dunkley (at least in squad at very least)
Daniher (in squad at least)

Fair?

Robbo has had a few lower leg injuries while playing this year.

He talked about hating the injury prevention sessions he did at the lions, and thinking then that they were a waste of time. He now believes that they did work.

We've had a few lower leg injuries this year. Wonder if the program has changed.

Clug no chance after his quiet first half of the year. Andrews good chance. Daniher a great shot particularly if he finishes strong. Payne I doubt will get in. Dunkley and Neale maybe outside chances at this stage but would be worthy.

id have andrews and neale as both almost guarantees

cameron and daniher are our next closest. think daniher more likely based on recent form and the fact he has his bunny darcy moore on the run home

Pretty crazy that our best young players always get this terrible injury

- Rich early in his career

- hipwood :(

- rayner

- will now :(

cant recall if leunberger got one as well. Back in the day Richard Hadley too.

A few saying that Zorko was ordinary last night, IMO while certainly not at his best I thought he was ok, only 15 disposals but took 5 marks, made 6 tackles and he put on decent pressure.

Likely needs a run of games to get back to near his best at his age, a fit and firing Zorko by finals would be a serious weapon for us.

Drummond, Corrie, Bartlett and of course Pat Garner x4 or 5 :(

If I recall correctly, Cal Bartlett was named to make his debut for the Lions but did his ACL in the last training session before the game.

He might have done an ACL three times.

I know we had high hopes for him but he had a wretched time with that injury so never got to play an AFL game.

Always felt really sorry for him.

So would a fit firing Michael Voss

I think that was Skinner

Payne and McCluggage no chance.

Payne has been great but there is a plethora of key defenders to fit in - hopefully Andrews is one of them.

McCluggage had a very quiet start to the year.

Joe cops a lot of shit but he has been one of the most consistent key forwards in the comp this year. Reckon he'll make the squad - he will need a big last 4-5 weeks to get in.
