Could be wrong, of course. But I think it's significant that Esava hasn't returned to the senior team after 'management', particularly given the relative height of the opposition forwards this weekend. Surely this would be one of those weeks where he's supposedly included to counter some seriously tall opponents, if he's actually considered to be on a par with the rest of the defenders at this point.

So it looks like there has been an acknowledgement that the defensive group is better balanced without him out there. Really sensible call for mine. Here's hoping they all stay fit and available as we ramp up towards September.

Looks like that's the decision. I expect we'll give him another game or 2 in the lead up to finals when we rest SDK, Henry, Zuthrie, etc just to keep him ticking over because he's next cab off the rank. But I think the decision has been made that he's not in our best team.

Even more so if we see him Saturday morning in the VFL.

Reckon 2E will be sub (unless late change)…and Menegola as hold back? So Sav and Oisin play VFL?

Happy with that side - hopefully Tuohy is the sub - because he is a class footballer

Just a couple of match ups - i didnt think Hipwood was impressive in their last game against Melb - looked like the weak link - he is really hit and miss that bloke as to whether he plays well - thus J Henry could be a good match up - and tell him to run off and expose him

Joe D - since theve given him the odd run on the ball - into the ruck - he can be damaging - got a racking left foot kick - and kicks to advantage - and sets up goals for them - so he can be damaging when he is on the ball

Their left handed ruckman in their last home game about 3 times from the centre bounce he punched the ball 35 metres forward - alah Rod Blake - Damien Bourke - that can be an attacking weapon- puts the visiting side right under the pump

Huge game for O Henry - this is against a genuine Top 4 opponent - and they dont muck around they play an up tempo - fast game - it will be interesting if he can cope with that - re his defensive pressure when he hasnt got the ball - and it would be great where he could go through a game - where o/head marks he should take - he actually marks them all - doesnt drop them - like that 1st sitter in the Ess game

Who will play on Charlie Cameron - he is in peak physical condition - moving really well - no Bews - so whichever Geel player goes onto him - obviously that player has got a big role and an important role

Its not the end of the world if Geel get beaten - as long as they play quite well - if they lose by say 20pts or less and play well - then they are still a realistic chance come Sept

If Esava doesn’t play I commend them on intestinal fortitude.

If Tuohy is sub that’s exactly what I called for using the sub to manage veteran minutes.

I am…

…struggling to melt?

Is he better than SDK or Henry? We can't have all 3 of them in the team.

SDK is the future, Henry is Mr. Reliable. Esava likely packing his bags at the end of the season end.
