Not being patronizing or anything but, you gotta watch Caddy in the flesh to see what he means to the structures and game plan.
**** he hits them hard when he can.

Nothing patronizing about that

Whilst watching the replay make sure you take note of the shocking slippery weather up there last night. Very tough for key forwards.
You're entitled to your own opinion but within the four walls the club is extremely happy with Caddys output and that's really the only opinion that matters
Does one good thing for the night and he,s going to be a player?Against a side who were 3 down for the best part of the 2nd half and only have what 12 possies?Corey Ellis goal was great. Think he will be a player
*shaking my head in disbelief
Please, please, please make it stop.
You're actually trying to focus on his CPs and tackle count?? Seriously?
Played as a KEY Forward last night...
Caddy kicked 1.2 and had 12 disposals and 1 tackle as an undersized KEY FORWARD
Week prior Riewoldt kicked 2.1 and had only 10, and 1 tackle as yes you guessed it, our No. 1 KEY FORWARD.
Let that sink in for a bit. Caddy did what was asked by the coaching staff and did it well.
Fair to say those critical of Caddy haven't quite understood his role.
I wonder if it is a tactic they are working on. I think teams have worked out to flood our forward line and clog it up. Doing the chip kicks draws players down field opening up the forward line for a quick move down using our leg speed.Very eh win, although it was a danger game by our standards so I guess that's a good thing.
Anyone else think our chipping around in the backline late was a bit of practice closing out games? The play leading from that was insane too. Went coast to coast in 15sec.
He gets a score involvement stat, which he had 6. Caddy had 5 last night, crashed a few packs and had a real physical presence. He doesn't get a stat for that perfect tap to Grigg I think it was, which lead to the goal of the day for us at an important time. J
Don't think that was a bronx cheer for the mark. Something happened behind play that got the crowd up and about. And those who didn't see him on TV perhaps missed the numerous fumbles, dropped marks and ease at which his opponents waltzed around him. I noticed he got a big bronx cheer from the supporters at one point for catching the thing. If the standard is long leads and crashing packs, and you don't have to do anything with the ball I should be in the team.
He was solid in the role he played without Jack no question about that. However, If Jack is back next week as expected along with Prestia, why do we need him? Who else gets dropped?
I'm not a big stats guy as sometimes they lie but he had the worst ranking on the field aside from the injured players didn't he?
For me it's similar to the Grigg in ruck situation. Grigg was great in there when we only had Nankervis and you have to respect his efforts. But once we play Soldo Grigg no longer rucks.
Caddy was an ok replacement for Jack. Now that Jacks back, why should he keep his spot?
Because we're still missing a second tall
Because when we have a second tall he can go back to playing midfield
Because we're winning

Some people are just blinded by their hatred of some players they can't see that they were actually ok.

It continued on and we gave away a reversal free a minute later.
Why would you drop him and not someone like Bolton who, let's be honest did sfa. Oh wait, because hes just a kid and clearly isn't ready to step up yet so might as well give him a go instead of Caddy who has been a solid contributor all seasonwould drop him for next weeks gam

Did what we had to. Would've been nice to really put them to the sword based on their injuries but did enough I suppose.
In: Riewoldt, Prestia
Out: Caddy, Bolton
I thought the same at first too. Hopefully Josh didn't think it was for himFair enough. I don't like that as giving bronx cheers to a player without confidence...it doesn't do anything for their confidence lol so I'm glad to hear that it wasn't for that.
wHY...?!?Grigg isn't going to get dropped guys.
If this was his 1st year then i agree it would be harsh. But he's not. Will only grow in confidence the more exposure he gets at AFL level. I think his output will grow.
Think you're being too harsh on him.

Just on the handball chains, I think we do need to do this a little more, when are rushing the goals and use our numbers to run the ball in into the goal face, instead of just kicking to a 50 50 contest. One thing I noticed is we never looked in danger of losing. Slippery conditions, skills were poor at times but we moved if well. Those handball chains are epic

We do understand his role. He was asked to play in Jack Riewoldts role and he made a decent crack of it. However Jack's back next week and he's half the player Jack is. Simple as that
I get what he brings to the team. I understand the physicality and that it frees up Trent and Dusty. I'm not on team 'bash prestia and caddy'. However, i think his game last night is being overrated. Probably due to the fact it was Caddy or bust last night. Calling for his head may be harsh. Sure he may have been great off the ball, he may have ran great patterns and created space and holes....if he did this then he let that side of his game down when he had multiple chances to take clean possession and impact the game further. That is a fair assessment. I think his confidence is down and it shows in his refusal to try and take it in the hands.
I want top 4 as well. But still locking in a top 8 spot first is the main thing then we can go hard for the 4. I'd almost prefer finishing 5th and playing the druggies then having to travel to Adelaide
I heard the coach say Jack was right for next week. But there's no guarantee Prestia will be fit is there? I'm hoping the only change is Bolton for JackCaddy was great last night. For those of us at the game, his bash and crash was essential. Played well. Did his role like he does every week.
Out: Bolton and C Ellis
In: Jack and Prestia
We're 4th for a reason.

No way we'd play a final a team SimondsFinish third (which given GWS's form looks more of a possibility) and we could draw the Cats in Geelong in a QF.
Corey has bulked up when compare to the start of the last preseason, remember the photo of him and Yaz.
