I'm actually preferring these last 4 games leading into finals because in 2013 and 15 we had soft as butter lead ins which played against us i reckon.
It does. You want to be playing finals intensity footy and this week will be so much like a final and we could knock over a mob who's just beaten Sydney, Adelaide and almost Geelong. What a great opportunity for a finals dress rehearsal.

If we beat Hawthorn who are absolutely flying at such a critical point in the season it will be a huge win and give the team a belief that they can do anything.
Probably the biggest game a lot of them have played. GWS and Port don't come close. It's not a bad thing it's a great thing to have such a massive game right now.

Yup. Its awesome playing these mini finals. Hawks will turn it on. Pressure cooker footy. Give the boys a taste. Pre heat the oven!

I see Graham seems to be having a good VFL game today. Been impressive on his returns from injury so obviously has some steel about him. Wonder if it's worth giving him a game to see if we unlock a gem for finals? Long time ago I know but Tony Jewel did just that with Peter Welsh in 1980 and it did really give us a spark.

Need the rain to happen on Sunday afternoon

Would back our game in the wet vs Hawks over possession style

Dont get the Caddy love tbh. Why? Because he tried? He covered some ground on leads?
Sure he crashed a pack on the wing, that was great... but for a bloke who apparently did so much around the packs his CP's and tackle count do not add up. Failed to impact the game i thought.
As has been stated probably stays in and is important for structure.
Just because he was the only option we had for that role doesnt mean he pulled it off.

He's a mid who played as a KPF.

he was good considering what's being asked of him

Miles was great particularly in the first half.
Surely he's in the best 22. I know he has his deficiencies but his contested ball work in the guts is vital, gives us first use allowing us to get it into our forwardline and hold it in there
Has made the most of his last 2 opportunities, unlike earlier in the year. I think he stays in.
As to who goes out for Jack and Dion, I would say a small forward for Jack, Butler? Castagna frustrates the hell out of me, but 6 scores keeps him in, just wish he could tidy a few things up (stuff up between him and Caddy on the goal line!).
For Dion I would guess either CEllis or Broad. Either will be stiff, but isn't it good to have these issues.
The other option could be Soldo if they think Nank has had the rest he needs from not being the sole ruck.

Does one good thing for the night and he,s going to be a player?Against a side who were 3 down for the best part of the 2nd half and only have what 12 possies?
Nah did more then 1 good thing. Thought he was pretty good. 14 possessions 5 contested, 3 marks, 3 tackles a goal, and went at 79%. 5 score involvements to.

Spot on. He also gives you that feeling of confidence with ball in hand unlike Prestia/Castagna etc which is a great sign. Still only 20 years old. Keeps his spot in the side after his past fortnight and hopefully can keep building.

Even his out on the full was a decent kick (if there can be such a thing). Is one of those players that wont need to accumulate to cut you up.

Even still broad is playing the role of short, so really it's between Ellis and menadue ATM. Ellis played well last night and should stay

I think CEllis should stay in as well. We don't need another tall defender against Hawthorn.

That win was uglier than home made soup.

Certain ingredients and cooking techniques are the guilty parties for the less-than-appealing look of most homemade soup. The most common instigators are beans, legumes and pulses, which are often full of starchy carbohydrates, which leak out into the stock and make it cloudy. Cooking or sautéing the base ingredients also contributes to a cloudy or vomitously chunky texture.

So if you really are after a clear, fresher looking soup, then the easiest way to achieve this is to simply throw all of the ingredients in water while avoiding starches. Another possible solution is to blend the soups, but in a recent study done by the South Australian Culinary College, it was found that a staggering 86 per cent of respondents said blended or pureed soups reminded them of 'old age, nursing homes, and the inevitable black chasm of death'.

But I think we need to approach this differently. Rather than sink the boot into the rough, even ugly, appearance of homemade soups, we should celebrate it. There is far too much airbrushing, editing, advertising, sanitising in our society. Does everything have to look so nice all the time? Does everything have to be so clean and tidy? Does it really matter than I ran out of Valium last night and tried huffing Araldite? I look at the soup I made last night and I celebrate the fact it looks like it's already been eaten a couple of times. In Japanese culture there is an aesthetic celebration of imperfection called wabi sabi, which is something I think we should apply to soup.

In: Riewoldt
Out: Bolton or Butler (reluctantly)
