To reiterate, the game plan is not being adhered to.[/
Mcguane and Staker, at a time when we need size and experience it's time to step up and do what Stef Martin has done since getting back. You've eaten our food and stayed in our house far too long without paying board. Time to man up and give us body strength when we so desperately need it!

I don't mind Zorko's comments.

You would think the Pies game would have been the wake up call - but it wasn't. No one was rallying thr troops in warm up, there was little to no voice amougst the group (I was in row 2) our warm up side of the ground. even when we ran out we were covering about 50 square meters as a group all scattered and seperate, instead of being tight knit, which didnt give a look of us being unified or ready to go.

Not to harp the same point again, but I am getting at this - If a senior player coming out and giving a public whack means guys are more switched on or there is a sense of responcibility of being up and about on Saturday night, sobeit. It gives the group no where to hide now, he has put it on them and himself to perform and its a good thing, I don't care if it was him, Lester or Aish that did it.

It also gives the supporters a sense of satasfaction as sometimes you are left wondering if they are hurting as much as we are, and you can't fake the look in Zorko's eye this morning, he was pissed.. and hurting - it was good to see.

We've done OK at getting the ball up the boundary to a certain point...maybe halfway or a bit less...and then we just can't move it reliably and consistently any further. My real worry is if the trend continues, what happens when we come up against a team that effects pressure on our defensive 50 making it more challenging to get the ball out?

Pissed and hurting after the game is great, but the effort was summed up in the last quarter when Robinson took a mark on the boundary line. The game was held up whilst Ziebell was sent off under the blood rule. At the commencement there was totally not one Brisbane player making a lead or creating space for the kick. To a man they all stood there watching. Time to get pissed and angry is at half time yesterday, when you still had a chance to impact, not in the showers or on the bus to the airport. I was pissed and angry at that point of the match but unfortunately as a member have no such chance. But to tear Lindsey Thomas a new hole would have been almost worth the $7000 fine.

Pissed with anger, rather than pissed and angry...... Though that may have helped

the other thing with Paparone is that he was in the team in pre-season as a floating half back flanker (not even third tall) and now today he was playing as the CHB!

really his role was to be playing on guys who'd be running way up to the wings and he could float off them and get intercept marks (which I thought he did well in the pre-season) where as in this game he was asked to play out of his weight division.

I was unaware of the game/age discrepancy being so big so thanks to those who posted it which lays it so bare. Will be interesting to see how we 'keep up' this year as its been obvious that GWS have improved (with Griffin and Patfull a part of that), Bulldogs have improved and Melbourne and Saints already have wins on the board and seem to be better than the last 2 years (albeit I still expect them both to finish bottom 4). Gold Coast and Carlton are looking in a bit of trouble and we are in the mix with those 4-5 teams in the bottom third of the table again and only with absolutely everything going right are we vying for 12th or higher.

So possibly out with Merrett, Goose and Clark? Gotta laugh or you would cry. Well, if Close can play its time to go back and play KPD.

What happened with Goose? :(

hey look I don't mind what Zorko was saying but it he is no Rocky. Rocky would have given 100% to win the game even if we are down 50 points. It means more to the players if Rocky said those words but I suppose Zorko is the vice captain but he shouldn't have been the one to say what he did should have left Rocky to come out and slam his players. Zorko will learn from this and know there is a time and place to say that and it doesn't look good when he was flaming his players and he was just as soft as them.

Good on Zorko for what he said. It wasn't close to good enough and i hope it does hurt the players. But it means sweet nothing if they don't put in this week. I will cop a loss if i know players have had a red hot go and we are beaten by a better side who beat us playing at our best. I expect Zorko to lead from the front this week.

Totally Agree. Its good to hear from blokes whoa are hurting after a humiliating loss. He's right - that performance was unacceptable. Lets hope he fires up this week!. Best way to lead is from the front!

If you really think that this is a situation that Zorko needs to (and will) learn from, you've totally misread the play.

I much prefer Zorko's approach than Leppa's excuses.

I sway back and forth between why he says what he says and what us as supporters would like him to say. He's got a young team that he's trying to develop so he doesn't want to crush their confidence. At the end of the day we have no idea what he says to the team behind closed doors, we only know what he says in the media.

Leppo has no idea in the post match interviews. He said this game style has shown to hold up... excuse me? We have been flogged 2 weeks in a row now in the critical areas you need to win a game. Magpies should have sunk us by 80 as well but ran out of legs.
