Leppo has no idea in the post match interviews. He said this game style has shown to hold up... excuse me? We have been flogged 2 weeks in a row now in the critical areas you need to win a game. Magpies should have sunk us by 80 as well but ran out of legs.

He said the game plan has held up, then said they weren't even sticking to the game plan. When we stick to it we compete, when we don't, we get flogged. I don't think our game plan was zero intensity, no pressure, drop easy marks, not work into space and look pathetic.

Someone has to put the acid on our team, well done Zorks, you will piss off the blokes looking over their shoulders in the team, you will inspire the one's who want to be winners.

Just out of interest, what did you see in Lester?

I've never been a fan, just wondering what other people have seen in him.
I always liked how he went in the midfield and how he started his second season when he played as a defender. For me, he seemed to get into good positions and generally (I'll get slack for this) be somewhat reliable with the ball inside. He also had a good contested game in the middle. I think his game in round 23 vs geelong last year highlights that.

Back in 2013 (yes, yes a long time ago, I know) he played three games that really impressed me. VS Adelaide playing on Jenkins as a KPD, VS sydney, when he tagged Kennedy, beat him and got 27 touches IIRC. Also, that year against geelong when he got 18 touches and kicked 2 goals, he showed good dash and compsure in that one (except for the missed goal attempt late in the game)

Close confirmed ACL
Hopefully he can put use this leg injury to stop running and instead gain some serious mass. His endurance, whilst good, isn't helping him in the bulking department. Was wondering why he was still so focused on his running during the preseason instead of hitting the gym hard. All that running uses up shit loads of calories which means he would have to eat twice as much as someone like Freeman to get the same gainz. Also all the running limits his ability to recover effectively after a gym sesh.

In short after seeing him trialed all over the ground I had an idea he was alright at clearances in the middle, and with size and endurance I always thought he could develop into a hard edged 3rd-4th defender with a degree of composure. Happy to say I was well off the mark. Onto the Dizzy Train now...choot choot

His is only 20 and is an aspiring CHF not a FF. The modern CHF needs to have run and endurance and play most of the forward half. Sitting in the 50 metre arc is no longer the game. Trust me when I say this, I would rather go back to good old days of man on man footy than this over aerobic crap they play nowadays but the reality is that if he did not put those hard yards on to build running capacity he may not have been getting a gig.

Has their been a complete reversal of the gameplan or something. First 10 round last year we played like this, slow down on the wing where we hadly scored because it took us ages. Then after the first half of the season, we played faster down the middle. Have we gone back to the shitty gameplan again?

Not sure if it gas been mentioned but Firrito did at least get charged for his unnecessary whack on Christensen. A fine only, judged as intentional but low impact. I'm not unhappy with that result but it just makes your blood boil thinking about some of the incidents Rockliff got suspended for last year.

That reminds me, probably rules him out of the Brownlow now. Too many games lost due to injury :(

Zorko admitting that the players aren't adhering to the game plan ... as opposed to Leppa saying that they aren't adhering to the gameplan?

Isn't this like saying you prefer Coke over Coke?

I didn't realise the only thing Leppa and Zorko said is that we aren't adhering to the gameplan. The other stuff I heard them say I must have imagined.

Interesting to hear brown say the club is furious that close did his knee on the area that astro turf meets the ground proper - said there was a 2 inch lip and the club is treating it as a workplace incident. Can we skip the monetary payout and maybe just get a couple of top 10 draft picks over the next 2 years as compo instead?

Hey all, on the weekend I noticed a lot less of the transition from 1 wing to other which was quite frequent last year and even the pre season/ rd1.

Instead we went a lot of long balls onto the wing which wasn't very effective as we just fed it to North's dominant talls.

Would this have been a directive to play this style as Etihad with smaller wings?

Or was it the smaller ground and Norths zoning forcing that style of play?

I think it was North's zoning. They shut down the switch and we had no answer for it.
