Its quarters like that make you really miss Blacky. Clearances are hard work..

Stef Martin has been hopeless. Does he realise what colour jumpers we are wearing. Refuses to tap it anywhere near a Lions player. Robertson and Frost down back is a recipe for disaster. We just don't run hard enough. At one stage we had the ball on the wing and not one Lions player was running to get into space. Rocky needs to get out of this bad habit of just throwing it on the boot, does us no favours at all.

Essendon are just so much faster and cleaner than us. We should probably be losing by a lot more. It's indicative of how poor we have been for so long but I am pleased that we haven't completely dropped it and it was good to get a couple late.

And yeah, umpiring. Every match I have watched this round has just felt completely over umpired and this is no different.

Missed the first half... wow. And just when I was feeling a little confident.

What annoys me about all this bomber hype is the word "comeback" - they weren't injured, they weren't sick. Roughead is a comeback.
You were punished.

On the game - flat footed 10 minutes absolutely cost us. No one stood up during that onslaught. Not one.
Too many blokes waiting for contact when going for marks.

Martin being beaten by a vfl grade ruckman.

McStay just looks like a lazy footballer in every aspect. Not a fan.
Seems like all hes good at is the low percentage screamer launch at the ball. Shit below his knees too. His defensive pressure is crap too.

The earlier start time confused me, got back in time to watch goals get piled on and on against us. What happened to our defensive unit? Shocking turnovers and no one is willing to run defensively in the midfield. Fantasia, Merrett and Heppell are allowed to run freely while our Beams is being manhandled continuously.

Also, the umpiring has been shocking. That free kick to Tipungwuti was probably the worst call of the year so far.

I had a very good view of our defenders then and it looked like cutler and dizzy argued a bit. Cutler is playing very poorly (worst in our team today). His attitude is showing.

Had we kicked the 3 goals earlier that qtr we'd be right in it. Will be hard to win from here, but the boys must not give up. That is the most important thing

I think we just have to commend how well Essendon played that quarter. Almost unplayable with their quick and precise ball movement. Naturally, teams like ours, who have never been good at hitting targets and transitioning play, will panic when under that much pressure.

Pleasing to see the last two goals go our way, at least it's something positive heading into the second half.

Also poor goal kicking, otherwise we would be right in it

Second half is crucial - win, lose or draw. Have to start getting our hands on the ball in the middle. Mitch needs to stand up. Rockliff has been invisible (although the stats probably contradict me), Bewick has been largely unsighted and I know I have seen Bastinac out there somewhere. 29 points down is not impossible - but Fagan needs to put a rocket up them.
