I'm up early to get a Game Day thread post in early...and also to run Up the Buff 25k at Currumbin. I'll be back just in time to collapse on the lounge and watch the Lions win (in a perfect world).
Won't be satisfied with anything less than a win....stuff the gallant losses. 100% confident we are going to give them a decent flogging and surprised others on here think otherwise following our ruthless showings against the Dees n Weagles.
May the following come to pass after the game today ...
- our Lid on/Lid off thread gains many happy posts
- much angst amongst those trying to pick just five out of our 22 contributors in the review poll
- Brad burning in effigy, memberships being microwaved, and posters reminding of the contact numbers for lifeline and beyond blue on the North autopsy thread
- The team take a bit to get off the ground giving our Melbourne faithful interactive celebrations
- Port's preview thread full of dread and despair as they contemplate their doom at the Gabbatoir
- The gods of the turf at Marvel have been satiated by the sacrifices already made and seek no further blood today
- Fages with that happy grin he had at the beginning of last weeks press conference again
- Ladder: 1 - Brisbane Lions
Ughhhh hope the players aren't getting as ahead of themselves. Not sure my decade as a lion's supporter and associated scarring allows me to be too positive about this game. Let's hope the boys are focused on the job
Who would have thought before the season started that coming into round 2 we have a chance of going 2 - 0.
My thoughts are that we will be keen to continue the form of last week and will come with a similar intensity. But so will North after their dismal effort last week.
It will take us a while to burn them off but when we do we will take the game away from them quickly.
Lions by 56.
We will have to watch their run out of defence, they play a different game style than West Coast so our defensive structures will need adjust accordingly.
