Call me optimistic but I liked that we kept plugging away at the end of the game. Junk time goals yes, but there were reasons galore for the players to drop their bundle and give up a triple digit loss. They didn't. That's a little win.

I missed most of the first half, but thought Will Day was about the only bright spot in an otherwise woeful effort.
Oh well, I am here for the long term.

Dreadful skills and non existent structure.

The effort was better than last week. We were actually playing a very good side today. If skills were better (especially in front of goal), it would not have been as ugly as it was. But the poor kicking accuracy is a reflection of the ability of the side.

Next weeks North v Hawks game will be a big story. Clarko has them playing so much better than last season. We so far look to have gone significantly backwards.

How do these kids improve / gain confidence after that? I’m all for the rebuild but that was just tough to watch. Love the Hawks, but my god the optimism for this year is just fading fast

What’s annoying is if we’re gonna get smashed play the kids.

Our back 6 last year was great this year they look crap, yes Sicily and CJ haven’t been as good but set them with cohesion. Should be Dimma, Sicily, Morris, CJ, Scrinshaw, Blank, DGB. Impey snd Frost are not good players and they make simple errors so why not build with the 7.

Two ruck setup is so bad when none can mark the ball, just play Meek and whichever key forward is fit whether Ransden, Serong, Jeka or even just put Frost there as he at least will halve it and Lewis in fir Kozi ASAP.

Also our small forwards are good but not pressure players bring in someone just for pressure so we can push Moore up and Breust and Chad as small full forwards

I think the only thing more disappointing than Hawthorn, were some of the overblown tantrums in the game thread.

Asking for the coach's head after two weeks, is just staggering. Take a cold shower.

We didn't play our best against a side that is well drilled, made the GF last year and has been blessed with high picks through a dodgey academy draft system.

We will have a better go next week.

If by some Devine miracle someone is nice enough to knock that smug Tom Papley the F*** out, then this season isn’t a complete waste.

Jai is having a slow start to the year, was hoping he would continue on last years trajectory but has stagnated so far.

Sicily was awful today. As were most in our backline.

Do we actually have any tall forwards on the list who are available?

4 goals on a ground the length of most Aussie backyards is a cause for concern. The seemingly lack of any pressure to keep the ball in the forwarding also.

Midfield looks alright thankfully.

Backline looks disorganised which worries me as it was the one pleasing part of last year. Perhaps the attacking setup across the ground which leaves us vulnerable to counter attack straight down the guts is partly responsible for that - too hard to defend th fast entries?

Ah well.
Go Hawks!
