Another big test for the mids.

Round 1 win
Round 2 loss

If Carlton control the stoppages they will be right in it. Just like the Bombers were after quarter time.

It is a nice feeling going into this one knowing we have multiple options to cover McKay and Curnow. Stop clean ball to these two and we should be ok.
But as we know this is football. Anything is possible.

Will 2 five day breaks have an impact. You would expect the Blues to be desperate.
It's a 7 day break followed by a 6 day break

Well if I'm brutally honest......

Against Sydney we played in a fair bit of rain during the second half and continued to show ball handling and disposal skills that could beat the opposition.

Whereas carlton struggled to hit teammates with 15 metre kicks under minimal pressure and handballed to knees, ankles, short and over their own players.

Our skills are better than theirs and have been consistently.
Superior skills are more important in rainy conditions.

I’d rather play Carlton in the rain than in dry conditions.

Not having a go here but Ridley had the luxury of having a club doctor on hand and was obviously given the all clear ( have to admit i can't remember him playing on after that) to play on!
Perhaps he wasn’t the only one concussed. 😉 All good.

I hope it’s just a team balance thing that sees Frosty miss out and not the beginning of the end for him.
CJ will provide good run against a slow Carlton side.
Can’t really complain about those ins.

Like the changes. Gunners to shackle Weitering as he did last year and it's great to see CJ back, to provide further run.

No reason why Frost can't still sit on the (back) bench and offer guidance and advice, which was Sam's reasoning for having him as sub in the first two games.

I sincerely admire your ability to find positives.
Generally takes 2-4 rounds for skills to start to balance out, first few rounds are traditionally littered with mistakes we don’t see as much of as the season progresses.

Strong side, imo. Gunners gives us good shape and CJ gives us the attacking element. We'll have less flexibility with Weddle and Sic but it's as good a side as we could pick.

With the likes of Lewis, Dear, Worps, Scrim out injured, CJ & Gunners coming in this week and Frost, Bruest, Reeves, Huss, Serong, Ramma in the wings with McCade, Mraz, Scaife, Anderson etc developing ……. happy with our depth and where the list is at!
