"Speaking post-match on the Final Siren podcast following the loss, O’Driscoll said some of the 'little things' hurt Fremantle in the final term when things were going their way.

"It's little things like holding the ball in at times. We don’t need to play on at times when we are up by 15 points and there are 10 minutes left," O'Driscoll said.

FUCCKKK me if that's what they're being told. I don't think there was a single time we got a mark and DIDN'T hold the ball in.
We were TOO adventurous?!?!?. **** me dead JL

We burnt Bolton, Amiss and Treacy so many times.

Amiss took possession of the ball when Bolton could've nearly run it into the goals. Bolton looked pissed.

That was ridiculously stupid from Jye. The most obvious case of 'tap it to your teammate' I've ever seen.

Bolton must have been absolutely dumbfounded coming from a system that was a relentless machine at moving the ball on at all costs to a teammate like that.

Imagine being Chad Warner or Kozzy Pickett, why the hell would you want to come over and be coached by JLo?
Something tells me Chaddie might not be coming to Freo:

Bolton was pissed and shook his head. Amiss just had to leave the ball alone and Bolton wouldve run onto it and scored.

Honestly think this is debatable mate. Late in games, think there's a very strong debate that our mids go missing

I honestly think both best quarter was the last one and dragged us ahead playing better footy.

Voss and Cox ****ed it and the rest of the game was garbage but thought they (particularly Serong) stood up.

Don't worry it get's better.

“There are times when we can control the footy and we don’t have to play a fast game.

"When we have them on the speed dial and we've got them locked down, we can keep our foot on the throat and play smarter.

"It might not just be go quick all the time and keep trying to score, it could just be control the footy a bit more and take the sting out of the game, and the momentum out of the game.

"I just feel like we weren't playing momentum well in that last quarter."

Like seriously we didn't try to go fast all game. Why the **** is JL telling them they need to hold the ball up MORE than they already did.
Spoken like a team that wants to kick 10 goals and choke the life out of the game

That's pretty damning if that is their mentality. Especially when we were never 15 points up in the last quarter.

Here is an idea ... when you are in front, put the foot down and try to get even further in front.

I don't completely blame the mids for this particular loss. Coaching, Voss' spud efforts (he could've/should've been the hero), Cox and umpiring for me. (Mids were trash though, except JOM)

Voss drops an easy mark in the second, 30m out under no pressure.

Drops an easy mark 50m in the third, then gives away a free kick. Then his next contest, he kicks it out on the full.

Last quarter, he missed the easy match winner, then kicks it into the corridor, under no pressure, with no freo player within 30m of his kick. Ball had to go into the forward line.

Voss was a coach killer and he's been in the system for too long to dish up that putrid. If he could kick, he'd be a good player, but he can't and this is where his career is, a frustrating player that you cannot trust

After that display today I thought about starting a thread titled “Things that let you down more than the Fremantle Football Club, but I couldn’t think of anything.
I was in the love JL camp but am now really ready to say we need a change urgently.
Today was our sixth straight loss, since last year. We have forgotten how to win and our coach has no idea about how to change the game plan to allow us to absorb and play in a pressure environment.
So many times we see players under pressure handball to another player under pressure a couple of metres away, expecting them to do something positive. Teams have long figured us out and play to our weaknesses.
Our forward 50 entries are woeful, kick long to a pack, get all the forwards to fly for the mark together and then wonder why the opposition clear the ball easily.
And don’t get me started on our defensive kick ins.
We have a very talented team but we are continually let down by ineffectual and dumb coaching.

I posted before the cats game, I wanted to see less brain farts, bad decisions and stupidly horrible skill errors. Well nothing has changed. We are as bad at these things as when JL started. Nothing has improved. The endless kicks to the members side, which we have done for years, ends up with the same result. The opposition big blokes spoil and the opposition small guys are front and centre to shark it. Rinse and repeat.
Most of our players lack a real competitive mindset and are mentally too easily intimidated.
The umpires today were deplorable too. Two sets of rules, which unfortunately, is also nothing new.

Objectively false they have stood up plenty of times when needed. That's bias on whatever the **** we are doing with them the last two weeks.
Why do they have to stand up week in week out?
Where’s the passengers? That’s the better question.
Where Frederick, Banfield, Clark, Chapman, Sharp. They weren’t particularly great but inconsistent.

I don't think you can fault the backline that much. Thought Clark and Chappy were excellent. Thought Chappy made a mockery of that ridiculous decision to play Worner ahead of him and that decision alone should get JL sacked.

Dire considering he had 14 touches at 40%

He was OK. I thought he was at least better than Freddy, Sharp and Banfield.

Not sure that stat is a fair indication. I thought his kicks were pretty good except the missed shot. One poor handball to grass. Took too long for a snap shot and it was smothered. For me it was 11 out of 14 reasonable disposals, which is OK by his standards. Laid some fantastic tackles which should have been rewarded, then of course he gets pinged for the exact same thing.

The worst thing he did was get burned by Bice on one of Sydney's late goals. He was trying but gassed and just could run with him. But where was the defence ahead of the ball that allowed someone to waltz into the 50?

Chapman just needs to stand out more. He gets big rave reviews. Just haven’t done much the last season or so.

Frederick, Banfield and Sharp just suck at times. Can’t have periods where they don’t even get close to the moments.

“We needed to send the ball to different areas at times…yeah, um, it might’ve meant we had less opportunity to score, but we wouldn’t have got hurt the other way”

This is almost a direct quote from the presser
