Round 2 Team Discussion

Marcus Drum has been named in the Perth team for tomorrow nights WAFL game.

1 down, 2 to go! Come on! At least ONE of Hill or Suban HAVE to play... Bleh, I'll probably just trade Cheeney in for Raines before Freo's full list is announced.

Hang on Hang on, wow there. Why won't Jack Ziebell be getting a game? He's in my 22 and I don't want to have to rely on the 30s I'll get from Walker and Brown.

He's listed on the extended bench, but he should still get a game. FWIW, a few on the North board were speculating that if there is a change, it will most likely be Ross in for Smith.

Surely they won't play Thornton? That would leave at least one spot for Hill and Suban. If Hayden doesn't come up then they're presumably both in. Also, seeing as Bradley has been named at FF ahead of Murphy (and the fact that Murphy is kinda useless), you'd think Murphy would be left out.

Leigh Brown and Alan Toovey both in instead of Dayne Beams? Maybe I should trade him, if he can't break into the side ahead of those hacks he's clearly crap anyway.

Also, god damn Tuck getting injured and god damn Butler getting dropped. Give your players a chance Worsfold, he's been injured for two years, why drop him after one bad game when he was dominating the last couple of pre-season games?
Worsfold has to make someone the scape goat. Nevermind the fact that he was too slow to make a change to stop the 9 goal onslaught in the 3rd quarter.

However Butlers game was really really poor.

Just looking ahead a week, things could get ugly.

Final teams won't be known for Port Adelaide, Melbourne, North, Hawthorn, Fremantle, Adelaide, Richmond and the Western Bulldogs.

That's half the competition. Some pretty important fringe players in those sides as well. Might be something to think about when trading this week.

I'm hoping Thornton doesn't play given he's the favorite to play in the WAFL, if so, I should be safe for sure with one of either Hill or Suban playing. I'd be very relieved not having to waste a trade for round 1 and still avoid a Donut.

Also I'm not worried about Richmond, I'm trusting Rance to play and score the way I expected Raines to score because after all, it'll be in Richmond's backline a lot and Geelong's forwards definitely aren't the best marks meaning Richmond's backline can whip up the ball a lot.

last week scored 2002 & was pretty happy could of been better but satisfied

but raines got injured, i can wear that i have rance & hurley as back up straight swap untill today hurley .............gone
suban & hill named on extended bench........................had to trade

out: raines & hurley

in: ryder & cheney

hopefully these boys stay fit & healthy, continue to perform !!

not happy 1st week 2 trades.

Wtf were you thinking? Rance covers Raines and chances are both Hill and Suban will play, at least one definitely will which only means one 0, so why two trades? Especially when one of the trades (Ryder) is completely ridiculous.
Hurley will be a massive cash cow when he comes back, which is only 4 weeks. I've got no idea what you were thinking here...

At the very least, why wouldn't you have waited until tomorrow to see the finalised teams, then you would have known if the two Freo boys were getting games?

Goodluck with it though :thumbsu:

North have named Daniel Harris, Andrew Swallow, Gavin Urquhart, Ben Ross, Josh Smith, Jack Ziebell, Todd Goldstein on an extended bench.
IMO I feel that Harris, Swallow, Urqyhart and either Ben Ross or Josh Smith will be selected in the final 22 before Ziebell.

Ziebell is a gun, he's got a bit of X-Factor in him. Even though he didn't get a lot of the ball, he did a bloody good job so he 'should' be making it into the team. Remember, he was cited as a Rising Star favorite.

Both Hill and Suban will play IMHO

This is how i see it:
Hayden failed fitness test - out
Drum named in the WAFL - out
Thornton wont get a run - out

If Thornton does get a run Murphy will be dropped before Hill/Suban :thumbsu:

(Personally i would prefer only one of Hill/Suban to play as i have cover and most people dont meaning more 0's for the competition :p)

magpies03, if he's a late withdrawal there'll be nothing you can do about it, unfortunately.

Not a lot of point in naming Swallow and Harris in the same side IMO. The bench will probably read Ziebell, Urquhart, Swallow/Harris, Ross/Smith.

According to article on afl.com.au Hayden did not get on the plane from WA this morning, but both Hill and Suban did. No mention of Drum, Thornton, Murphy or Browne.

This week just keeps getting better. Mcintosh to epic fail now. :D
I'm surprised Goldstein was the one to come in, as our tall forwards were pretty useless last week, and with us playing the Dogs I thought we'd go for Ross. Either way, Hale, Drew and Hamish up forward is going to be a bastard of a match up for the Doggies :D. Can't wait!
