Leppa is a massive fan of McGrath. Could have pushed Zorko out of the side in the early party of the year but for his injury.

Really ? Must impress leppa, But i do remember his back with the flight effort in front of Petrie, courage when no one else would show it

Seriously one of the worst highlights packages I have ever seen. They don't show any of the set shot goals! They show the marks inside 50 but then cut to the next highlight without showing the shot for goal……

Best game from Rich and Redden in a while but I was most impressed with Dawson and Cutler. Cutler's speed off the mark is deadly. He will be an absolute weapon on the counter-attack. Dawson has been consistent off half-back for a while and could well be in the mix for a Rising Star nom.

Freeman was another. I think it was Lethal who said all you want is "signs" from young key forwards. The kid hasn't had a proper pre-season yet but he caused a seasoned fullback in Jamison plenty of headaches.

Robinson had a blinder, Bundy was Bundy, Harris continues to grow and Zorko, Martin and Rocky all delivered.

When we are up and about we are an exciting team to watch which probably has something to do with the fact we have exciting players such as Zorko, Hanley, Bundy and Rich. Last night was the first time I saw our new midfield all playing well(Martin, Rocky, Richy, Redden, Bundy, Zorko, Hanley and Robbo). It is a shame DBeams wasn't out there as well!

Could probably be attributed to the opposition, but Justin Clarke wasn't missed as much i thought he would be. I like McStay being back there when Freeman's in the team.
yeahh mcstay as a rebounding halfback flanker/winger who pushes forward every now and then looks very good, can be a genuien star having greater influence on the game rather than just waiting to take a ridiculous mark

moves really really well, can see the talent Leppa identified in him

btw for those who do payout leppas coaching, unlike vossy he has shown he is willing to alter his approach and views on his players

for example startt of the season mcstay was earmarked only as a forward, given mcstay wasnt performing to his potential he was smart enough to move him to a new role

bourke, who was looked upon as a defender, leppa identified there is a chance of him playing as a forward and he was promptly moved

Merret back to defence, mayes moved out from defence the wing/forward, hanley to the guts

he just needs time and needs a healthy list but he has fantastic potential as a coach

McStay isn't a natural forward and I doubt he will become a forward in the next few years. Ofcourse he will play a few games here and there but he just looks so much more comfortable down back. Will take a little while to get the natural feel of when to run off and when to fill a hole for the defensive structure. Kid is going to be ELITE.

And next year, just for something completely different, we'll hear exactly the same thing about him as a a forward again.

I agree, Cork will be able to plug a number of holes for us next year.
Oh I think he'll just bob up here and there in games and just float about not doing much.

First off a great win, was worried in the first quater. Robbo had a great game. Zorko took things on, Rich had some run, Redden found some ball, Hanley showed some nice marking/kicking from 50, nice to have some targets.
ok to be negative.. Carlton dropped all pressure and turned into training hats, just like we have to a lot of teams this year. So we looked a lot better and got away with over use of the ball. Second game in a row with over 400 and over 100 more the opposition, although a lot less of a team we played.
Be interesting to see what happens next week, although our forward line is getting better having big bodied talls like McGuane/West and I always liked Freeman from the times I seen him. If he can only get games into him.
Do not mind McStay down back.
Now we have a win everyone is we do not need anyone.. Be interesting what happens next week :)

I know the voting is a subjective thing and, I know that it was a great alround team effort, in which credit was owed to a great many people. but even having said that. I'd be interested to know:

Who were the three people who didn't give Mitch a vote and WHAT GAME WERE YOU WATCHING? ;)

Interesting interview with Rocky post game. His first game without rib protector - went OK. Players confidence dragged down by dreadful NEALF team - getting pounded week on week does not help. Something has to be done about that. Contrast with Dogs - their VFL team is brim full and players get a chance if they perform.

He is a champion.

IIRC when he first returned from his broken ribs he wasn't wearing any sort of protection. Interesting to see how long he wore it after returning for the second time.
