I agree with it, I had no faith in them either. Restored somewhat but still a bit to go.What should he have said , The saints are flying and should win the flag ?

Gee I recon you could mount a serious argument against the outcome of the perceived improvement in training standards. Not all Saints supporters, many of us had faith in RTB and the coaching team.
We have come a long way in 12 months.
Riewoldt was on the money with his comment about improvements in training standards.
I begrudgingly listen to the fox footy podcast. His effort in his run home column yesterday (we're losing the last four BTW) was equally disgraceful. The next time he gives us credit will be the first time.

Nope, not how it works. The ladder is a mf liar. We stole wins and we also were given add on wins that we didn’t even play in.Funny how they also thought Richmond beating Hawthorn last week was impressive
They can keep going on about how we don't deserve to be where we are on the ladder but that ignores that we've beaten 7 of the 10 teams also fighting for a spot in the 8. That is why we are sitting 5th instead of those other teams. We've had our form difficulties but so has everyone else around us.
But for me it’s silly because it doesn’t have a clear purpose. If it was just based on form right now, then you’d see all sorts of fluctuations. Port would have to have dropped a few places, etc. If it’s based on trying to target eventual final positions, then how do you ultimately have a team in the 8 and they miss finals or vice versa. Even if we lose the last four, we aren’t finishing 15th.I agree with it, I had no faith in them either. Restored somewhat but still a bit to go.

Doubt a change of club will do much for him at 28 honestly, could be wrong though.Aaron Fiora MK2 unfortunately
Lots of hype due to draft position but failing to deliver to expectation.
He’s going to need a change of club to see if that gets more out of him.
Unfortunate for us but a reality for him personally
Remember at the start of the year when Lyon said he hasn't liked the narrative around St Kilda at times? This is a good example I think. It's not that it's wrong to predict we lose every game but for about ten weeks all we've heard is how crap we are. The club is trying to sell memberships to get people to come to the last few games, we sit fifth and have a huge crack at finals yet all we hear is how bad we are. The complete ignoring of Nasiah is a good example.Funny how they also thought Richmond beating Hawthorn last week was impressive

If you still had faith after losing to the Hawks and barely getting over West Coast and North then you’re a better man than me!
You have to have context. If we weren't coming off 11 years of pretty putrid results and comical draft/recruiting there would be much more love for the year we are having. I think the one thing I put some hope in is our drafting has been almost impressive since 2018 and that needs time to wash through.
Still, reality is we have had time for 2 rebuilds since 2011 and we have one sixth place finish to show for it. It's not surprising there is a lack of trust in the club.
Rates us 15th and even if we lose every game from now we can't get there - St Kilda have better out comes against the better teams than the btm teams as shown against the Pies and Melbourne - going by our improvement this year we have stopped the big loss's againstBut for me it’s silly because it doesn’t have a clear purpose. I would hope so but it will be a few years before we know how good Windy, Phillipou, Caminiti actually are. I think we can be confident in King, Wilkie, NWM and Owens. That is about par - if the other 3 come on it will be a good 4 years.Nah, it's been impressive, not almost.
2018: King, Wilkie
2019 (traded out of any meaningful high pick): Byrnes
2021: NWM, Owens, Windhager, Hayes, Peris
2022: Phillipou, Caminiti, Stocker
And 2020 was a raffle due to COVID - no one was able to scout anyone (or play for that matter). The platform built through drafting the last five years has been very good.
They all know how talented Keller and Hotton are and we really got them for bugger all , I have to mention Heath - he is big and raw , but has the skills to be a hell of a ruckman and I would not be surprised to see him playing next year on a permanent basis.I would hope so but it will be a few years before we know how good Windy, Phillipou, Caminiti actually are. It's hard to say how good any of them will be but you have to remember Sinclair was a average player a few years ago and now he is the best player in the side.
And de-listedLonie was an average player a few years ago too
And de-listed
Exactly my point - most guys who look like average players don’t end up All Australians
You think he'll sign a 1 year deal?Keep him on for at least another year and see if he can string a season together.
Yeah, nah.Echoed the thoughts of many Saints supporters on here tbh. We can earn the respect back if we win a couple of the next four.
Yeah, nah.
Respect is earned, not given.
**** context...blues have been worse than us and you would think that they have won the last 10 flags the media carries on about them so much....You have to have context.
