Captains Round 20 VC/Captain

Merrett is going to cop a hard tag for the 100th game in a row. Do not touch him this week. Saints will put a shitload of attention into him.

My plan:

Sheezel seems a no brainer VC this week against the cats mids.

So lets look at the logical captain choices if Sheezel is a flop.

Neale vs GC. If you own him, this is the play.
Flanders vs Brisbane. Still hasn't dropped below 100 the entire year, pretty safe captain choice.
Tom Green vs Melbourne. Might be a bit crazy to captain Green but the Melbourne mids are seriously bad at clearance... Freo mids absolutely shit on them last week.
Serong vs West Coast. I can see why people would do it but it's a pass from me. Aside from last week against Melbourne Serongs form has been bad and he didn't go huge against West Coast last time.
Naicos vs Richmond. They didn't tag last week with Graham out so he's a great pick imo. Pressure very much on the Pies so you'd expect Naicos to stand up.
Bont vs Sydney. It's the Bont and he went 133 vs them only a couple weeks ago, yes SCG is worse tho. Treloar copped a tag last time, expecting the same again since it worked.
Gulden vs Dogs. Gulden at the SCG can drop some absolute monster scores, the Dogs wingers are fairly weak too.

Final choice:

Sheezel into Bont but strongly considering Gulden or Naicos.

Ross will find someone to run with him 1000%. Every team who puts even an ounce of effort into studying Essendon has had someone running with Merrett this year, even if they dont have a traditional tagger.

Adelaide had a 2nd gamer doing it last week with Bond. Melbourne had Neale-Bullen do it. Geelong had Atkins doing it. West Coast had Ginbey doing it. Carlton had Cincotta doing it.

The only recent team to not tag him was Collingwood and Merrett dropped the 2nd highest AFL player rating game of the season. Any coach who watches Essendon tape will realise if you lock down Merrett its half the battle to beating us

Just came in here to write that have switched VC from Sinc to Zorko.

GC get lots of inside 50s and play a transition game. Had 40 against them last time.
