Feels like we might have just rolled over in other games this year in a similar situation.

Perhaps a real turning point and catalyst for self belief for the team moving forward

Yep spot on. Thought we may have been in a bit of trouble then, but responded like a top 4 side. Showed so much maturity for a young team. Loved all the players getting involved in the scuffle at the time aswell.

Wardy didn’t flinch going back and Hill(?) tried to run through him. Collingwood player lined him up and Ward didn’t hesitate for one moment. Was right in front of me and was an awesome effort.

My take was slightly different.

• damp squib hill takes his eyes off the ball to assess oncoming traffic
• wardy’s eyes fixated on the ball
• damp squib hill runs past the ball to clean wardy up
• hawthorn win the loose ball
• Lewis dobs it from 50

• we have had 2 wins against top-4 teams this year in Brissy and Pies.
• in both of those games, Blanck played and Frost did not.

P.S. my heart rate when we have had the ball in defence in these games has been noticeably lower and I cannot understand why…

Kudos to Sam this week. A well coached game overall (and some on here know that I'll be scathing if otherwise )

Selection was based on the structure and position this week. Seamus was subbed cause Finn stayed on Daicos, call made to keep balance in the team. And Sicily should be AA, specifically calling out what happened last year.

IMO: Ryan is a project player. If he commits to the AFL, which he has recently had a taste of, maybe in 2 years he could become of a quality that is worth being (IMO) a premiership player. Why? = He is far to thin And easily pushed off the ball drop.

Ramsden will eventually take a spot in the Hawks team. The guy has everything.

Ryan needs to be heavier / stronger while retaining his agility. It is a 2 year effort.

I wish him well.

Ramsden isn't competing with Ryan, he is competing with Kosi for the second ruck/forward position.

Man this game had so many moments which just brought intensity to the players and got the crowd on their feat in such a similar way that our flag winning teams would do.

• Nuke tackle on Markov
• Kosi tackle on Degoey and goal
• Scrimshaw smother
• Scrimshaw tackle on Degoey
• Harry tackle on Noble
• Ward hit and subsequent Lewis goal
• Lewis pressure on Moore and Murphy resulting in goals
• Breust just crumbling packs like old
• Blanck crunching Daicos and just being a rock
• Hardwick taking contested marks 1 on 1 with Elliot
• CMac tackle on Moore
• Ryan's and Kosi taking some big contested grabs

This is the best we have looked all year from gameplay to structure imo.
Amon to come in but other than that I don't know any other change that should happen.

What an outstanding win, the final margin flattered Collingwood, aside from that little run they had in the second term we completely dominated them. This is the type of football I thought this group could be capable of, I just wasn't sure we'd put it all together so soon. In the TV interview Sis mentioned us being able to successfully switch to tempo footy when we had to which was really important.

Thought they were all brilliant but will give a mention to Blanck who just seems to get the job don with little fuss, I don't seem to notice him as much as some of our other options back there which is positive.

Ward as some others have mentioned was just running himself into the ground all afternoon to provide options.

Newcombe is just a beast, not sure if anyone else noticed at the game but he tried to kill Murphy the next time he was near the ball after giving away that 50 to Ryan.
