That’s the dirtiest I’ve felt after a loss in 2 years. Didn’t take enough of our chances and Collingwood took all of their plus got given two more.

The rate that the ball moved out of there was embarrassing. There is no urgency. None. The umpires killed us tonight but s**t, we have some serious issues with our gamestyle in these sorts of games.
The Goodwin gameplan involves too much reliance on perfect football and system and the opposition know that is our Achilles heel. We ran our selves ragged tonight with inefficient ball use.
We also dominated the possessions for most of the game and got done.
Goodwin has had 20 weeks to get this forward line up to scratch and it's a *en shambles. We couldn't lock it in F50 if our lives depended on it.
Hibberd handball in defense and Fritch handball up forward on boundary line in last 2 minutes. It’s not just bad kicking , it’s bad decision making that’s killing us every time .
We had a lot of shots from distance compared to how close they were able to get it in. Their counter attack style caught us out. We still should have won but it worked and Geelong will do the same.Honestly, that's the difference. Great game, even contest with contrasting styles, but they kicked super straight and we didn't.

We have Pickett and Spargo who should be running them down continually but Goodwin has them preoccupied with zoning and chasing further down the ground. The rate that the ball moved out of there was embarrassing. There is no urgency. None.
Our forward pressure is gone. What’s the ****en change from last year? I mean, there’s literally still a ray of hope that something turns but Ben brown?!? Come on, he cannot defend. We just don’t have any dynamic forwards. We’ve got one gun and one hot and cold small. The 4 others are just witches hats when the heat gets dialled up.We have Pickett and Spargo who should be running them down continually but Goodwin has them preoccupied with zoning and chasing further down the ground.
Brown either marks it or he's completely out of it.
Melksham is honest but too slow.
Other end they were all over us like a cheap suit.
How exactly were we better?Thought we were the better side. They were off the charts efficient with perfect counter attack. It was strategy but came off with every roll of the dice. Couple of free bets thrown in and we didn’t execute well enough again going fwd.
Getting sick of seeing Gawn slap it to the chest of a bursting oppo mid.
No chance they doYou just hope these pricks don’t go all the way…
Mate. We are so far off 2021 and Geelong choke every year! Nobody else is stopping Collingwood. You have to bury Collingwood early. 40 points up at half time type scenario. If you keep them in it they just hang in and win.No chance they do
I’d like Sydney to pull some left field performance and roll Collingwood to be honest. Geelong I wouldn’t mind. Neither Fremantle or Brisbane.Tbh I'd rather them than Geelong. Tonight was frustrating and annoying but a bloody exciting game to watch.
24 shots to 21 and we butchered more inside 50s than them. 65 inside 50s to 41. More possession. Time in front 92/110 mins. We didnt finish our work and they did, but we were the better side for the most part in a close game. How exactly were we better?
*en hell. Look at the scoring stats in the second half! They butchered us!
Have to kick goals…24 shots to 21 and we butchered more inside 50s than them. 65 inside 50s to 41. More possession. Time in front 92/110 mins. We didnt finish our work and they did, but we were the better side for the most part in a close game.
The type of game they win 2/10 rolls. Not denying they are playing well but their record flatters them.Have to kick goals…
Hmmmm. Well I don’t think it does. How do we get to our best by finals is my worry. The type of game they win 2/10 rolls. Not denying they are playing well but their record flatters them.
In the last, Ben Brown, when tired has a couple of lackluster defensive efforts, that allowed the pies to take it forward and score. In a close contest, little things make big differences. The rate that the ball moved out of there was embarrassing. There is no urgency. None.
Absolutely pin pointIn the last, Ben Brown, when tired has a couple of lackluster defensive efforts, that allowed the pies to take it forward and score. In a close contest, little things make big differences.
Brown is a liability around the ground in tight situations.
But our biggest issue thru the game imv, is the little give-handballs from the hot contest to another teammate, who is stationary and still within the contest.
The Pies just squeezed in the take the ball off us after we won the first touch.
We have a habit of doing this hot-potato handball, when in pressure games, and Oliver is still one of the worst at this. It becomes infectious with our other mids. then they all do it.
Oliver gets a lot of the pill... but when he is not carrying the footy enough, his efforest have a habit of backfiring on us, under these circumstances.
My other gripe when playing a tight pressure side, is for our key defenders. The intentional little fumble of the ball to thier feet when in tight situations backfires on us. others mid sized defenders come in to lend a hand and also intentionally lose the ball to their feet amd they drop too knees, and fall on the footy.
In big game situations with a big crowd like the Pies, the umpires will pay holding the ball against us and within kicking distance.
This keeps putting pressure back onto ourselves, via these habits.
In my view these habits around the contest, cost a dearly tonight. And kept the piers in it.
Our key defenders need to start to practice a coupoel of things... plauuying man on man arelearning to beat opponents one on one without support, (they're forgotten how to)... And on the high ball coming in, and we double or triple-team the aerial contest, our talls MUST kill the high ball with a smashing punch the the boundary, or thru the goals.
Spargo and Pickett should hang their heads tonight. The rate that the ball moved out of there was embarrassing. There is no urgency. None.
Not just those two.. many many of our handballs thru the game in tight contests, went the way of the pies clearance.Hibberd handball in defense and Fritch handball up forward on boundary line in last 2 minutes.
Simply overplaying the situation and coughing it up. Just take it over the line ffs.
So much for one trick ponies and duck dinners, thank you Langdon for firing us up. thanks for that pal, oh and by the way , we are now 7-1 wins our way, against the Deees, last eight games, so there you go, see you all up the snow fields next week, how sweet it is.I hate the Collingwood ducks
They’re the guys we rely on for that job…it’s awfulSpargo and Pickett should hang their heads tonight.
