I suspect Clarke will retain his place unless McInerney is fit. He kept Whitfield to reduced influence and if he can clamp Rory Atkins on Saturday (given Gold Coast will be without Wil Powell already), their rebound could be very hampered which feeds into our hands. Although Gold Coast are more of a stoppage side so maybe that isn't as meaningful for us to stop.
I doubt that it would happen but Horse could swap in Roberts and Stephens for Clarke and Campbell respectively based on your comment. Certainly wouldn't be awful.
McInerney's calf bad for another 2 weeks yet.

JMac won't be back, but Rampe might be.

Atkins is the role for Clarke if he stays in, but agree, don't think we need a tagging forward this week. I'd rather we're more proactive against the Suns.

Out: Campbell, Clarke
In: Rampe, Stephens
Sub: Warner or HHK

I'd give Roberts 1 more week to build fitness, and then bring him in against the Crows and Dees. Better clearance teams where we might need him.

I'm not as convinced by Stephens as others. As I said in his thread I think that sub role - playing a full quarter, fatigued opposition - plays to his strengths of elite run and fitness very well. I don't necessarily think that would translate to a full performance over four quarters, and I don't think that there's a player we'd get more out of as a sub. I'd bring Roberts in and keep Stephens as sub personally.

I'm not convinced Roberts can run out a full game yet. We can't afford players to be spent by 3qtr time, especially this year. We shouldn't need him vs the Suns, better to get him ready as possible for the other 2.

I mean, I'm no mathematician but a guy who can perform well in three quarters + a guy who can perform well in one quarter = four quarters of solid contributions.

Flanders in great form and coming to his own. Another from “that draft” we were linked to prior.

It would be a cool thing if Buddy sat on the bench or in the coaches box for the home games.
I disagree.

We'd spend half the game watching the camera pan to Buddy, accompanied by an inane comment from Kelli / Dermott / BT about "how much the great man would love to be out there".

Who will score more goals out of our talls. I have McLean to score the most out of them. He's been the most consistent of the 3 imo.

He was goalless in 7 of the 8 games before that, aside from the Eagles. He wasn't no.1 ruck the whole time.

team would probably try to pass it to him

Meh. I did that yesterday. Replay of the Swans/Giants game, then on to the Matildas.

No prizes for guessing which I think is the dull as dishwater code.
AFL the more interesting code but plenty of investment in the Matilda's.
I actually prefer the women's cricket these days. More like the game as I was growing up. Competitive but full of joy.

Swans not challenging Campbell's suspension it seems. I think it was a case that could've gone either way but I don't blame the club, it didn't look good and they would likely only want to challenge for our most important players, given the dent it can leave in the soft cap.

Stephens probably gets a full game now.

Went to the Matildas game at homebush last night. Electric atmosphere, never experienced it even during afl/nrl games. The gameplay itself was also pleasing to watch due to limited stoppages & no overdramatic reaction from the players. It was good free flowing soccer with an excellent crowd to support the girls. Transport via special event bus meant it was easy to get to/from the stadium too.

Wonder if the SCG will have the matilda's game on after the afl?

Would have been there if my daughter was in the country. Sounds great! Huge win. Soccer better without the fake drama for sure

The pic I posted this morning on the autopsy thread suggests it would be a tough one to get out of.

Haven't looked at stats but imo Parker looks a bit down. His awareness has dropped off a bit, been more sloppy with the ball & looks a bit tired tbh in the last couple of games. Maybe if Stephens or Roberts replaces Campbell they can spend some time inside with Parker playing forward or less TOG. Reduce his workload a bit.
