This week we play our home game against the Saints at the Saints home ground in a time slot that makes no sense in match that has little consequence to us.

Out: Green Brown
In: Whoever is fit

Prediction: Saints win, complaints will be made about Yze not being able to coach because he can't speak clearly and that the usual suspects should be dropped forever if not delisted immediately.

Any word on Steelys foot? No way Brown gets dropped. MRJ and Pickett a fair chance to come back you'd think. Bauer and Blight should play.
Yze said Brown has been battling a shoulder issue and then rolled his ankle on the weekend. Good a time as any to ship him off for surgery and ensure he is right for the start of preseason in November.

I do care about these games. We are going to finish last so let's use the last three games to play the kids in their best position with the best support we can give then. Let's see if they can make it. How much we lose by is irrelevant. This is about next year.
We all love Dusty but he really isn't going to be around next year. We said goodbye on his three hundredth so time to let go. Same with MacIntosh and Graham. Short is playing like he has serial concussion so give him a break as well.
Play Blight and Balta in defence with Banks Smith and Riolo to give us some run. Play Trezise on a wing. Play Brauer and Ryan forward with Miller playing forward to protect them. Rotate Taranto and Hopper off half forward. We can only have one of these guys at a centre clearance and we need to create some space for others. Rotate Cumberland and Bolton, one of these guys must start at the centre clearance then drifting forward to free up Taranto or Hopper. If Steely Green is fit play him It didn't look like MRJ was fit in the vfl last week so let him stay in the VFL We know his capabilities. And here's my big one, rotate Sonsie with Prestia through the centre. Our centres set up would be Taranto, Prestia and Cumberland or Hopper, Bolton and Sonsie. If we are going to keep Prestia next year we need to find a way to protect his body.

With the VFL side fighting for finals, I'm expecting there won't be much change from the side last week outside forced changes and they'll try and field the strongest possible line up in the VFL.

Tom Brown and Steely Green out for the rest of the year, each having ankle injuries. Lynch still the magical 1-2 weeks away but they seem to be prepping him for the last two weeks of the year.

Why would you bother playing him within the next few weeks. Waste of time.

THE ‘PUNT ROAD ABATTOIR’

The Tigers need to do something about their midfield mix and it’s up to Yze to spin the magnets, according to King.

While Taranto, Hopper and Prestia put up strong numbers regularly, it’s time that the Tigers find out which of their next crop have what it takes at the level.

“The slaughterhouse that is the midfield at the Tigers, the Punt Road abattoir,” King began.

“I’m looking at the coach, you cannot play Taranto, Prestia and Hopper for the bulk of the day at centre bounces and have them run your midfield,” he said.

King highlighted how the Tigers trio butcher the ball, Prestia going at just 20% kicking efficiency on the weekend, Taranto at 36% and Hopper at 37%.

“It’s not a one-off, it’s a trend and a pattern of behaviour,” he stated.

“They’re honest and they’re triers, but they kill you.”

King implored Yze to be bold with his team selection and try some things in the last three weeks of the year.

“The coach’s role is to place his talent in areas that can maximise the group, he’s not doing that, he sat on his hands for 30-40 minutes at the end of that game without meaningful change.”

Maybe Campbell and Banks can have a go in the middle for the last few games. Guys with a bit of toe and decent ball use. Bolton and Baker should be spending a lot more minutes in there as well

Surely even we aren’t stupid enough to roll out Lynch for one, maybe two, meaningless games at the end of the year?
Disaster written all over it!

So if we don’t win anymore games this year then the Richmond of 2024 will be the worst Richmond ever has had in the VFL/AFL (haven’t checked the records in the VFA).

Even our first woodenspoon in 1917 we managed three wins.

Staggering!
1897 of the VFA we had Two wins and a draw. So historically we are the worst ever performed RFC team.
In 1960 we had two wins and two draws.

Both those seasons had less games.
