This comment is so far off the mark, it isn't really worthy of a response.
The AFL moved hell and earth to destroy Fitzroy's list and singled handedly put a stop to any off field funding that may have saved the club. How you could compare the current Lions to Fitzroy is mind boggling to say the least. The only guilty party for this current situation is the club's.

Why did we trade for a midfielder when we needed a tall forward? We have many other players who can give the ball away in midfield so didn't really need Beams

Bye leppa take your missus and go be happy somewhere else, bring in someone from outside the Club that will be honest I would say 9 of our players are AFL standard. Not sure where you got that from what I said. It's the vent thread so not interested in arguing but I'm not at all happy with the performances of the past two weeks if that was up in the air.

He's actually been getting gradually used to it since you guys lost the '11 flag.
I did not truly realise it until tonight but the quality of posting on this board has reached rock bottom. You can always expect the odd rubbish post but reading post after post after post of absolute bullshit pisses me off.
If you want to vent, vent your little heart out but some of the shit I have read tonight is ridiculous. Stop acting like little bitches, stop having a sook and accept the fact that the team is currently rubbish and it will take time to develop this young list. If you can't put a loss like tonight into perspective with players like Rockliff, Hanley and Merrett out and you want to make a big show("Sack Leppa!" "**** this team!!!!") you may as well just give up on the sport.
Don't get me wrong, tonights performance was nothing but woeful and anyone who is referring to it as such has every right to do so. This post is not directed at you guys.

Yep, with Rockliff and Hanley both sidelined its noticeable.
Will be interesting with those two in the team how Beams goes.

First time posting on Bigfooty, but I've long been sympathizing with everyone else on this board, and I just felt I have to say the opening rounds to this season have been some of the least competitive footy I've ever seen. Sure we've come up against a few tough sides, but the skill execution has been beyond deplorable and the pressure in our forward line, actually all over the ground, has been non-existent. It seems like the players have no idea what to do or where to go next, whether that's due to inexperience in the playing group or poor tactical coaching I can't say, but it needs to improve if we're going to finish anywhere above bottom 2 or 3 on the ladder at season's end.
Take Pendlebury and Swan out of your side and I am sure the Pies/DBeams would not have performed very well. That is currently the situation Brisbane/DBeams finds themselves in with Rockliff and Hanley out.

I started following us before the '04 Grand Final out of a hatred for Port Adelaide. I struggle to recall times as dark as these.
Apart from Q4 vs. Collingwood, we have been DESTROYED, by three teams which aren't expected to be anywhere near the upper reaches of the ladder.
We're going backwards fast. As much as I want to remain faithful, Leppitsch is very quickly losing my support. Has shown zero nouse when Plan A fails.
Can't see a huge amount of improvement coming from a number of players. At least we had a number of shining lights a few years ago. Difficult to seeing this list ever gelling together to become something significant.
Things could get a lot worse before they get better.
