They were both going for a ball in the air but Wright got there late and turned the shoulder and knocked Cunningham out. He'll be gone for a few weeks.
Ahh… not quite.

KNOWS he isn’t getting the ball and leaps off the ground.

I hope he misses but what more exactly could Wright do there?

I'll need to watch again but it looked 100% like he was trying to mark it and then at the last minute he turned to try and minimize any contact when knew he couldn't.

King should get off

Leaps off the ground when he knows he isn’t first too the ball.

Then braces.

It’s brutal.

Yep, when you are off the ground you are 100% at fault for any injury that occurs in AFL parlance, in our friend the Geese: it's in the hand of gods.

Not jump for one, he could have also attempted to divert from his course, he could have also not braced his arm in an obvious "I'm going to smash this guys face in with my core" action. This is what the AFL will argue, that he had options in that 1 second to do anything but launch himself at Cunngham.

You have to remove common sense of what humans are capable of for a moment, this is the MRO, they do not care for such trivial matters of physics and anatomy.

bonner's family out in force! I meant long term where does he fit into 22, not for next week's game

bonner is more likely to make way than nas/sinc/wilkie etc.. could see battle taking cordy's spot and arie taking battle's.. depending on the oppo
Long term Webster probably takes his place. Cordy probably stays in until Howard returns. We need a someone taller than Battle and Wilkie to talk the beanpoles. Wright getting weeks would help there. Probably depends on match ups, but there’s often someone 198+ who needs minding.

He turned his shoulder into the Sydney player, left the ground. It’s an easy ban.

If he had continued to go straight on with his arms outstretched then would’ve been fine. It’s the fact he chose to bump while mid air that will decide his fate.

He's done a Webster but at least was looking at marking the ball before changing tack.

Essendon won't be an easy matchup. They've got a very good midfield including two good rucks. A decent forward line and some x factor. This is a danger game especially with our injuries.

It's the injuries that worry me.

Think we have Essendon pretty well covered if we were close to full strength. Hopefully, we still do.

Bloody hope Max beats that ban.

I’ve watched it 10000 times and I still can’t see how that’s anything but careless low impact
Elbows were in. The player got up and played on, must be low impact.

Peter Wright on the other hand…surely at least two.

They've set a precedent with guys like Webster now. If you get someone in the head it's multiple weeks.

Watch it, he wasn’t going hard at all. He looked like someone doing his program and not get injured. He looked a long way off playing seniors to me. Garcia got lots of tackles too but didn’t do much to demand a spot.
If he’s fit, he’s got the spot.
He’s experienced. Maybe he didn’t put in 100% in the vfl out of self preservation. But we need him in the team.
