Well, that didn't age well, did it??:roflv1::roflv1::roflv1:

It looked insane at the time. He looked like a want-away, slow-burn, low possession not quite sure of what position he'd play type of St Kilda stuff-up. Turned out to be a spectacular pick up.

Toce was a pretty good operator. He would have been the one to have identified him from his SA days. Also Wilkie on his watch as well. For a club that struggled to get any pick right in 15 years to find two absolute top flight talents in a couple years from a pretty ordinary draft position was outstanding.

It did not look insane at the time. High posession count is not high on the mind of recruiters depnding on the type of player/position they play.

I said this at the time and had watched some of his under 18 games and importantly at each level his decision making, speed and kicking held up at each level. Even in the AFL acadamy game remeber being taken aback at how cool and calm he was under pressure.

The other thing that made his disposals count misrepresent his actual ablity was the role he was being asked to play at SANFL level.

Lastly, Toice was also around when we picked up hayes and Sharman

Age reporting Toce is a front runner for the national recruiting gig at Richmond.

According to Kane this morning, 0 chance to get it downgraded and he was lucky to only get 1 week.
If the pies post weekend injury report is clean and McCrae is 100% fit.

How can you say it’s anything but low contact?

Medium contact would have resulted in a concussion, no?

Wouldn't surprise me at all. The guy was the involved in our recruiting (including being promoted to head recruiter) during our most successful drafting period in 20 years, including nailing early and late draft picks, as well as rookie, midseason and mature age selection. I remain very uneasy about his departure.

I agree he was a gun ,but so is the guy we got from the swans . Responsible for some great gets up there . Close to the best going around some say .

No idea, he didn’t elaborate, surprise surprise. I assume in his mind it is the potential to cause injury means it’s automatically medium.
