What's this his 3rd year in that position? He's just getting better, and better, and better. At 25yo he's in his prime and is still on the upward curve.
Batts, Wilkie and Stocks are our wall. They don't get enough praise.

Exactly he (Battle) is like Wilkie just gets his job done each week, without the fan fare of a lot of players. You can see why the club are offering him a 6 year deal, he is only going to improve.

I have a bad inkling that Max’s week will be upheld. I hope I’m wrong because he could absolutely feast on Essendon’s backline. They did some good things against Sydney last night but their defence of transition (our strength) is their big weakness so seems this is where we should get them.
It will be upheld. Now that Wright is in the spotlight, it will be both non-sensical and a terrible look for the AFL if King gets off making contact with the head if they want to make an example out of 2M Peter

If this were a prelim, or a Brownlow was on the line - Max would probably get off. But i personally think we should just quietly take the 1 now..

Downgrading to low impact and a fine is not exactly getting off though.
It’s just a difference of impact level.

Why though ?
It's not like it’ll be increased if he loses the appeal?

If it's a free shot, then sure contest. But I think we'd be wasting our time

The only reason Max wont get off IMO, is if McRae suggests he suffered from affects of the contact afterwards. Otherwise I cant see how it wont be down graded to low impact. The AFL/Christian are making a statement with their reports, but the Appeals Board seem to operate with a less emotive approach.

But the simple message for players is they can no longer 'bump' front on under any circumstances. Win the ball or tackle the player fairly are the only acceptable outcomes.

Mainly “just” money for the appeal. They haven’t done an extra week for losing an for appeal for a couple of years now I think.

What are everyone's thoughts on Josh being offered a 6 year term?

The man exudes leadership on field, is a great person, utter beast of a competitor, generally pretty intelligent and is in his prime, no brainer really.

CHB, CHF, relief Ruck, big bodied mid, the man can plug whatever gap if required to an acceptable level and runs all day. He is what McKernan and Marsh were meant to be back in the day.
