He didn’t take all the kick ins.Or RTB might just do the obvious for all the changes:
Caminiti for King
Jones for Wood
Butler for Henry
The hardest one for me is who they choose replace Jones as the Sub.
-Garcia the frontrunner
-Collard (With Higgins and Butler both in, less need for a specialist FP as your Sub)
-Arie- More to give him a taste than anything else.
-One of the other kids
Just on Arie. I know that many were excited by his high stat count. But deduct the kick ins and then allow that due to his kicking that all his team mates had clearly been directed to get the ball to him. Now yes good in that game, but in the seniors it will be Nas and Sincs as well as Battle whom the players will have been drilled to go through.
We need our back 6 to continue to gel so I see no prospect of changing it up like this. Also, Caminiti is a better forward than Cordy.Arie in for King, Cordy goes forward.
Neither Goldstein or Draper pose a genuine threat in the front half.
Battle to Stringer
Schoonersmacker to Langford
Stocker to Gresh
Wilkie to the resting tall.
Garcia for Henry
Outstanding analysisWhat a fantastic analysis. Showed a clear game plan to beat the Pies. Find the outlet kick to stop the frontal pressure. Make Collingwood reset defence by making them move across the field. Time and time again. Get the ball to the skilled users and hit the kick to a dangerous spot and Run Run Run.

We should play King anyway. Like when we played Moorwood and Foschini without a clearance. Just go full Donald Trump and say we don’t accept the tribunal’s decision.Have we ever won an appeal?
King should have just coathangered him instead of a light bump to the shoulder. Apparently that’s fine to do
Ross is about structure.Arie in for King, Cordy goes forward.

Great to see the boss keeping a lid on things yesterday before training, politely telling some supporters to keep things in perspective after they clapped the players onto the ground, then clapped him!Hammer is a certainty, I think he'll be keen to have a big one - which goes without saying but he is particularly motivated to make a point that he is more than a backup.
The next picks are actually tough to pick.
- Butler seems obvious, but he is still underdone and didn't set the world alight last week. We are a young side, so I get the feeling he will get the gig based on experience more than anything.
- Collard, didn't get a chance in his debut - I'd love to see Ross back him in. I feel like he's the type who will look average in the VFL but will lift/thrive when on the big stage.
- Arie, it's amazing seeing him grow before our eyes. He's always had his boot, but he has taken his medicine and is now a professional footballer. He has bought in and it's bloody exciting to watch. For his development/ego, Ross might want him to prove himself in the 2s for a month - but he is probably the biggest improver since day 1 preseason. His strength one-on-one is improving with each session, as is his movement/positioning, he's got the potential to be something special.
- Hugo, might be the obvious choice as the sub, must admit I'm not noticing him at training as much as I was. Got a load of tackles last week, has the fight in him. Looks to me like a more of pure mid at this stage, so hybrid fwd/mid role might be tough for him before he develops. May well be off the mark, but I think I'd prefer Lancey boy or Arie as the sub.
- A few more notes, it's good to see Paddy put in a big running session. Gassed yes, but he was floating for much of it, with Crouch out his full recovery cant come soon enough. I'm pretty bullish on him, reckon he fits our midfield so nicely. Seb in rehab group hopefully just staying fresh for an old man, Stock in a fluoro no doubt thanks to Dangers knee still, Hunts, Irish, Dougs, Pato running laps.
- Van Es, as good as in full training now, the kid is big! He has a presence and is somewhat immovable in a contest. I must admit I haven't seen much of him for Sandy but if training is anything to go by, I think we have a beauty in him for the years to come.
- Moose looks to have slimmed down, still a big boy who has a long long way to go with fitness, skills and basically everything in between - but I'm not giving up just yet.
- Keels, I hope we have him locked away for a few years. He is genuinely freakish, if this year is backline for his development - I'm all for it, but i hope we stay patient with him. He is actually that ruck/fwd what we are all looking for.
- Probably obvious, but Wright is one of those talls who could really exploit our backline. Call it 'spuds who excel against us', but I think we are pretty fortunate to see him out this week.
As always, I'm fearful for this game, but you'd never know it at training. The guys are up and about and looking sharp!
I’d back this if they broadcast it live. Kinda weird they don’t tbh
It will be more interesting to see how it goes at Marvel, where there’s not as much space. It will be hard for other sides to improve their running capacity during the season. That’s what preseason is for.Gonna be interesting to see how we look to gain superiority once other teams have matched our run. Might take a year or even less.
Also interested to see if our superior running is sustainable deep into finals. Injuries are already mounting.
Ro has it tough every week!Ross is about structure.
His sides are set up from back to front. So you won’t see Cordy getting moved forward unless it’s dire mid game.
Caminiti for King. Membrey and Sharman need to lead the way.
Most important player in the game will be Marshall. He has it very tough this week
Was told there was a few including Young Wilson who got a clip in the review.Great to see the boss keeping a lid on things yesterday before training, politely telling some supporters to keep things in perspective after they clapped the players onto the ground, then clapped him!
“It’s only one game, keep it in perspective” said the boss!!
This more then most.Ro has it tough every week!
Owens will be important up forward too with big Max out
Ross not a fan of over the head handballs? Was told there was a few including Young Wilson who got a clip in the review.
You would imagine that’s what it was.Ross not a fan of over the head handballs?
Marvel is still pretty spacious. Not quite as much width on the wings but it's not a small ground like Kardinia Park or the SCG.It will be more interesting to see how it goes at Marvel, where there’s not as much space. Sinclair and Jones will be better for the run, Mitch is due for a big one…Mattaes can’t go any worse! An extra plus though with Windy and NAS coming off arguably their best games ever and Steele looking back to his best.
Yeh i suppose its that balance between commercialization and making further elements profitable commodities. They really don't want to, if you look at those actually reading the text and getting the vibe it's like 95% against the AFL and whoever is representing them at given time. There is no world where the AFL in all their "protect the image, purge everything under the rug! GIVE ME MONEY" phase would go for straight vitriol against their proceedings to really ram home how bush, agenda driven and half arsed the whole scheme actually is.
I mean you literally have cases where clubs speak the entire time, AFL rep stands up "nope" sits back down and wins the case. You just don't put that on the internet in vision and have any sort of credibility as an organisation. Yo run, far far away from any talk about visualising that circus.
To me he seems a better coach this time around. He doesn’t waste words. Everything he says counts for something. If a player needs some encouragement he’ll pat him on the back, but the minute someone is getting ahead of themselves, or not doing the work, he’ll give them a spray. You would imagine that’s what it was.
I wasn’t told what.
Just that it was what saint mike said. Feet on the ground. Clipped a few for easing up throughout the game

GMHBA definitely wouldn’t have suited us.Marvel is still pretty spacious. Not quite as much width on the wings but it's not a small ground like Kardinia Park or the SCG.
I think the time in the media has helped him with relaying his messages to the public. To me he seems a better coach this time around. He doesn’t waste words. Everything he says counts for something. The boss was quizzed about Bonner’s 2 howlers…responded by saying “we don’t kick ‘em here” adding we brought him to the club for his run & kicking! You would imagine that’s what it was.

Ross had that reputation of having his faves and then not giving a rats ass about the 10-15 on the list he didnt care about.I think the time in the media has helped him with relaying his messages to the public.
Behind closed doors he has apparently always been absolutely loved and where you hear examples of players unsure of why they are dropped or delisted. His ex players are upset because he has been nothing but absolutely blunt and doesn’t sugarcoat it.
Interestingly with Mattaes.Sinclair and Jones will be better for the run, Mitch is due for a big one…Mattaes can’t go any worse!
