Unfortunately I think we are in for another flogging this week it is going to be very difficult for us to match their leg speed on a fast deck. The kicking skills of the aints was a feature especially off half back, conversely we couldnt hit the side of a barn.

You’re right but what does that say about our focus for this season. Playing KMac in the centre with two of our most experienced players doesn’t make sense. It is reasonable to pick him as the Sub in case the kids are getting smashed but to start him and not even give the kids a chance to succeed is just nuts.
My 2 cents
We want the young guys to play AFL time. But we also want them to not get smashed around. So we get KMac-1, TT, Hopper smacked around. Also Dow can get smashed and we don't care much. In 2 years-ish our 2024 draftees will be physically and mentally ready to play a lot of time inside. But guys like Campbell, KMac-2, Sonsie, MRJ should be playing every week against the AFL's best.

There are not enough places available for all this. So we want to manage our selections to have the older guys protecting, leading and coaching the young guys to develop. We want maturish early career guys to step up and play lots of minutes, and hopefully step up to be genuine week in week out AFL players. And we want to expose the young guys to the AFL, but to also get to dominate VFL and learn how to succeed.

Winning isn't very important. But being competitive and development are the key.

The Saint appear to have changed their game style and recruited well. I don't have them as a contender. But they should be able to knock us off. Hopefully we make it tough for them though.

RFC is a fit football team, last week Ran 5kms more, Out sprinted Port 277 to 268. RFC Almost doubled their repeat sprints. Use 70/75 interchanges.

just can't football... especially at Marvel

I miss Morro's sentence structure. Batch might need someone to edit his write-ups a bit before sending them out I think 😂

You don't know which st kilda shows up. If we are 4 goals down half time well over run them.

Saints were putrid in round 1. To say they’re going to belt us is a bit far fetched. Their first 2 rounds were the same as ours in reverse. Depends on what both teams dish up but I can see this being close. (With a Tiges win of course)
port were putrid in rnd 1 too

Can Tiger temper aggression on AFL site.

Sigh.

Tom Lynch has hands tied behind his back before he walks onto the field.

Umpires will have a hubble telescope on him all game.

Most teams have speed and kicking skills these days. We were lucky to play Carlton in round 1. It will be a long season, but I wasn't even upset with the Port game. As long we create scoring opportunities as opposed to last year when we couldnt, the games are watchable with the young kids playing.

We dont need Lynch to play every week anymore with Armstrong, Fawcett and Faull all needing games. So he should have a license to deck c**** out there and aim to play 15 odd games only.

Not saying we’ll win, but I think this will be a lot closer than what people expect. Young sides like us will show inconsistency from week to week. The bad side of inconsistency is like last week’s game, but the good side is that you can get some competitive games straight after.

St Kilda is usually a great defensive side, but their forward line’s a bit suspect without Max King. This game reminds me of the Carlton game two weeks ago.

With Lynch back, we’ll get more scoring options. Taranto and Hopper probably won’t play like that twice in a row either.

We’ll see how bad my rose-coloured glasses are on Saturday lol, but I think we’ll push them at the very least

Need him to do a Membrey and fly into marking contests with his elbows out
