Game over. Good effort, we were just missing too many guys. Naismith, Samson and Smith played pretty well. Banks decent.

Only Samson a chance to come in against Dees if Kosi has a s**t game tomorrow IMO.
I want Ryan to come in he is too good for VFL, I don't want him getting used of this level needs AFL exposure it's a big step up!

Smith looked very composed and foot skills out of back half stood out . Excellent overhead for a small defender. Think we’ll be seeing him debut sooner rather than later.
Great to see Ryan taking some big contested marks. Goal in 3Q, 55 out was a ripper (using the Cumberland set shot routine).
Naismith excellent.
Pretty good effort considering how many injuries we have. Dominated the 3Q but couldn’t score, then they go bang , bang , towards the end of the Q, game lost there

Juddy - quiet first half, then tweaked his knee, tried to get back out there, but his knee buckled to start the 3rd quarter. Spent a bit of time in the rooms before coming out strapped, knee gave out again when he kicked a team lifting goal. Looks like it could be a meniscus given the way they had him strapped and icing up afterwards. For those bagging the management of the injury, they did all the structural tests before sending him back out. 2 disposals 1 mark 1 goal

Naismith - had a big game again in the ruck, got first hand to plenty of ball in ruck contests with 38 hit outs. Played full time in the ruck and then rested on the bench. For those who have been suggesting he plays as a forward, todays game should dispel that notion. He's a ruck and that's it. 14 disposals 1 mark 5 tackles 11 clearances 38 hit outs 0.1

Coulthard - struggled to get involved in the first half and did slightly better in the 2nd half. In fairness it wasn't an easy game for our forwards to get involved in during the first half. 6 disposals 2 marks 2 tackles

Ryan - played a really solid game as a forward rotating in the ruck when Naismith had a rest. Was fairly strong at the contest both up forward and in the ruck. 4 goals was a good return from him and may put him into the mix for ANZAC Eve depending on how the side goes tomorrow. 13 disposals 7 marks 1 tackle 4 clearances 17 hit outs 4 goals.

Cumberland - started in the midfield and was badly burnt by Daly Andrews (the dyed blonde) early on, as his lack of defensive work saw him pay little attention to his opponent post the stoppage/ruck contests. I'd really like to say he played well as we need guys like him to step up and become regulars moving forward, but it's just not happening for him at the moment. Granted he had some important touches in the second half, but again it was just flashes here and there, rather than a consistent level of effort from Noah. As I mentioned earlier, the passage where Banks was coming out of our D50 in the last quarter and ignored Cumberland on the wing only to then get berated by him sums him up. It needs to go his way for Noah to want to be involved in the play and when it doesn't he lets himself down by dropping his head. What makes it even more frustrating is that there are moments, that don't show up on the broadcast where Noah does the type of things you want to see from him, the gut running, the talk to organize teammates in positions/structures, but they are few and far between. 13 disposals 3 marks 3 tackles 1 clearance 0.1

Banks - started off quietly, but worked his way into the game once he got moved behind the ball to help out in the back line. Still has some moments where he lets himself down in the contest as he doesn't quite commit to take the physical contact. When he does get time and space though, he can be damaging coming off HB or down the wings, but it's hard to survive at the highest level if you're not willing to win hard balls. 16 disposals 4 marks 3 tackles 1 goal.

Smith - played another solid game down back, defending well, putting himself in position to win ground balls and using it well once he got possession. Copped a knock to the shoulder in the 3rd that slowed him up for a few minutes but recovered to finish the game well. After a horror 2023, it's good to see him getting some consistent footy under his belt. 16 disposals 4 marks 4 tackles 1 clearance

Yassine - had a real quiet first half with just the one possession, however that did result in a Ryan goal. Unfortunately suffered a nasty ankle injury early in the 3rd and despite trying to come back was ruled out after a fitness test on the boundary.

El Nour - very impressive game down back. His ability to read the play before his opponent allows him to position himself well to either intercept or get a fist in for a spoil. Can be a bit shaky with his disposal at times where he tries to bite off too much. Making a solid case to once again be in consideration for the MSD. 15 disposals 6 marks 3 tackles 1 clearance

Brindley - an undersized key defender who has formed a good partnership with El Nour. Rarely gets easily beaten in a 1-1 contest and often times manages to get a fist in for a spoil. Probably a long shot for a MSD pick, but a handy addition to the VFL side this year. 11 disposals 5 marks 1 tackle

May - as mentioned above it was a difficult game for our forwards to get involved in early on. May still presented as a target and fought to at least halve contests and give us a chance to lock the ball in. Has a beautiful kick on him and was slotting goals from 50m in warm up with minimal effort. Worked very hard defensively to end the game with 9 tackles. If El Nour wasn't available for us in the MSD, May could be a viable option to bring in to get him into a full time environment and see how he can develop. 8 disposals 3 marks 9 tackles 1 clearance 2 hit outs 1 goal.

Davidson - young KPF with the mop of blonde hair has some good traits to work with. Presents well on the lead, competes well in the contest and uses the ball well more often than not. He does a lot of the things I'd like to see from Noah at a more consistent level and gets the rewards from doing so. 11 disposals 4 marks 2 tackles 0.2

Overall todays game wasn't a bad game from a side that is severely impacted by injury, not just to the AFL listed players, but also the VFL listed. Despite Werribee being a much stronger side on paper, the boys stuck to their task extremely well and had the Werribee side feeling a little anxious in the 3rd and 4th quarters as they just couldn't put us away like they'd have liked. Unfortunately they will be impacted by more injuries for their next game as Clarke and Yassine will both be missing.

Just checking in. How was Cumbo today ?

Kaleb Smith ? - I rate this kid. He just needs a good run at it.

Sampson ? Need him to dominate games back to back and really take authority over the air.

Cheers.

Edit. Haha thanks RT
