Rotham is sub as Foley is suspended.
I thought Floley is eligible to play AFL as he has already missed AFL games due to suspension and not eligible to play WAFL because he has only missed yesterday's game to suspension?

at least that's what the Wurst reported.

Has to be Rotham as sub due to the side picked you would think.

If, as expected, Rotham is named at the sub leaving Foley as the spare then it’s been an astute piece of match selection re Foley

He couldn’t play WAFL due to suspension

He is eligible to play AFL, as due to a quirk of sorts he effectively served his suspension from AFL last weekend even though he played in the WAFL scratch match. However, whilst within the rules, him playing AFL would have looked a bit odd as he effectively wouldn’t have actually missed a game

So keep him in reserve in case there’s an unforeseen injury, illness or whatever rather than a player who could play WAFL in what was already a depleted side

If it all goes to plan, Foley isn’t required, he effectively serves his suspension and alls well

My apologies I don't read and never will read that trash mag as well, just going off of my understanding of suspension rules in the past. I may well have this one wrong.

AFL modified the rules around feeder club suspensions a couple of years ago due the fact those competitions often started later. The rules as they were, meant that a suspension in a lower league would keep a player out for longer because they’d miss AFL games then be ineligible for their feeder league as well as the AFL

So they counted AFL games missed separately to the feeder league

Foley therefore served his suspension for AFL purposes last week and his WAFL suspension this week

Yeah not just immediate family either. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, the works. Family got East and South Freo connections but I’m a 90’s kid when Eagles were the kings and I never swapped when everyone else did.

Btw the connection is because they’re both pagen symbols of fertility. Not sure what that has to do with Jesus ect but Easter is a mix of pagen and religious traditions anyway.
You're right, it did start as a pagan celebration of the spring equinox (I always thought it was remarkable how easter always brings in the winter weather-but it's was worked out centuries ago). In Christianity, easter Sunday was dedicated to observing the resurrection of Jesus Christ, celebrated around the time of the Jewish Passover. (thanks google)(and Hook)

Bailey Williams halves the contest with Grundy at centre bounce.
Culley brushes Viney off like a feather, collects the ground ball and gives a quick handball to Ginbey, who has a stride on Oliver.
Ginbey quick handball over the top to a running Hewitt who delivers into fwd 50.
Oscar Allen, slightly out of position, outmanoeuvres Stephen May, nearly marks.
Ball to ground and a deft tap on by Oscar to the clever Noah Long results in a goal across the body to WCE.
Jake Lever cries, because he's a sook.

Elena has been practicing her bouncing. When successful it always go a bit to her right. Tell Bailey.
