Just having a look at the Lions Roos game because its at Norwood. Its a ridiculously narrow ground, so there's no choice for any team other than to go up the guts. Which means, more or less, the opposition knows the direction the ball is going to be moved. It's a contested ball game, so to win we need to both be at the ball and to change the depth of the kicks to the forwards. Move it both short and long because its got to go in fairly straight. The only way to fool the Tigers defence is through a lot of leads while keeping a few deep forward.

Go Saints!!

It's such a thin ground. They will want to have lots of stoppages, we'll want to get our run going.

Interested to see how we use Owens with Caminiti in there. Our forward line should be able to stretch them.

They've brought in Graham off zero run-in games. Also it will be interesting to see where Dusty is at.

This is a great game for King to grab by the balls. Caminiti next to him looks dangerous too.

Run run run all day. Keep running and we get this done.

Not ideal to have few mids available and select a tall team.

Caminiti, Membrey, King, Sharman limits run. Would rather 3 of these and Hastie for run.
Sharman and Membrey have big tanks.

Brisbane have shown how dangerous it is on a ground like Norwood to have a couple of big forwards to clunk a mark or at worst- clear a patch for smalls to attack.

Bonner will star

That’s 4 forwards though. Yes Sharman’s a utility and maybe he can play a wing but not convinced we need Caminiti. Seems excess.

Against North. We need run to get it to the forwards not more forwards hoping for the run to come.
Hammer sub supporting Ro in the ruck.
7.4 now.

Brisbane regularly play 1 ruck and multiple tall forwards. You can say it’s only North. But Richmond is in rebuild mode and are playing kids too.

North have zero defence. Possibly the worst seen in some time.
Watching Tigers they still have a chaotic attack on the ball and move forward at all cost. It will move forward at our defence at speed.
Caminiti seems unsuited tbh. Will probs get the gig though.

Never were going to drop Bonner when playing at Norwood. Also illogical to drop someone who had 32 touches, regardless of what he did with them. That would be a first.

I suppose with Hastie on the bench RtB can pull the Bonner pin if he’s having another shocker.

Every time caminiti got near the ball last week. I was impressed by his agility and cat like movements.

He is far from a giant lump of a tall that offers little.

Caminiti to play and provide relief ruck instead of Owens. Allow him to burst through stoppages forward. Can't have 4 permanent tall forwards but Caminiti could be priceless playing a bit forward, a bit ruck and general nuisance value, because he can mark, kick and run. Sharman to roam the wing. They are too talented to leave out.

Not a lump by any means but I just think we need more runners. 3 targets that can take pack grabs (including Owens) should be enough.
You may be right but looking at the interchange I think I’d like to see something different. Max brings the connection to the forward line.

The Kardinia Park pocket stands out for me. Such a shallow pocket that guys like Hawkins have made careers out of kicking goals from the boundary that would be no chance at other grounds.
