Anyone with Riewoldt could be looking good this week. Averages over 100 for his career against the Dockers and @ 120 against them in his last 3.

My gut is telling me to go Deledio over Ablett.

Im hesitant about making Lids captain. Bartram is a pretty handy tagger, and I think he will make it difficult for Deledio this week. Lids isnt in the greatest form at the moment either.

Im going Chad this week. Loves playing the Hawks, loves playing at the G. Is in pretty decent form too. :thumbsu:

My thoughts too.

Except as your backline seems to be crashing and burning I think I'll now go Kornes :D.

FWIW I currently have Chad as vice.

Last year Richmond played the Dees twice. In Round 12 Deledio scored 114. He was not tagged, apparently Foley was tagged by Dunn but Bartram played his own game.

In Round 22 Bartram tagged Deledio but he still scored 134 - his highest score for the year.

His first 3 scores of 85, 111, 84 aren't all that bad.

In the end, my reasoning is useless because my head says Ablett, but going with the gut which says Deledio. Fingers crossed.

BW - Deledio is an interesting one.

If i was melbourne, there are two views i could take.

1) Foley was incredibly damaging and unstoppable around the clearances. He must get the tag as he is in form and influential.

or

2) Deledio was tagged last week and was kept pretty quite. It shows he can be kept out of the game if we do a good job. So we will tag him.

So basically, theres two sides of the coin, and both of these players look pretty damaging. Im not sure which one i would choose to tag....

If I was Melbourne, I would definately tag Foley. Whilst you're correct in saying Lids was kept quiet last week, Foley has a long history of not being able to cope with attention. Also, when let loose, Foley is far more damaging than Deledio. Just look at him in the all star game last year.

True Lakey.

The thing that I was impressed with last week was that Lids copped a pretty tight tag from Picken but still managed 84 pts. Picken was all over him and that showed in the 3rd when Lids jumped on him after a stray fist to the head. I think thats an incredible effort. Only 16 possessions in that too.

As I said before, all of this debate is pretty useless for me. The gut says put Lids captain so that's what I'll be doing. :) For better or worse.

Yes, i am also impressed by his DT scoring ability when he gets a hard tag. I think the fact he has scored 85s rather than low 60s and 70s points towards him averaging 100.

But, coaches arnt concerned with DT points, and IMO he had no influence on the game. He might of had 3-5 touches that were influencial but that was about that.

I also agree with DW that foley must be the go to man. He is incredibly tallented at the clearances and should get a hard tag every week - last week he would of got the 3 votes IMO.

Kane Cornes all the way. He loves having his brother back so they can chip the ball to each other. I've never seen someone work so had to get the kick ins. I'm pretty sure I saw him call for the ball when he was on the bench last week.

Espically because he is playing the Box Hill Hawks this week.

richo for mine, last week lake played on him and he is probably one of the better match ups for richo. Richo wasn't good at all and still pulled a 104. Who have melbourne got who can go with him? foley and deledio may get big numbers in terms of possesions but richo will rack up 15 makrs and if i'm lucky will decide to kick some goals which = 140+

Hodges and BW4PM, I wouldn't be considering Chad. With Westhoff out he'll probably be spending a lot of time in the forward line (he did last week) and key forwards usually don't score well against Hawthorn. Chad is least effective in both AFL and DT terms when used as a forward, but being the utility that he is Choco won't hesitate to throw him up there.
