Conca and Darling have both looked good so far, but they traditionally don't lke awarding it to players in losing teams which will count against both players, particularly Conca.

Gysberts might be a chance against Gold Coast, he's had a couple of good games already.

My bad. Too many ciders this arvo on the back deck:eek:

Like your work:thumbsu:

Yep, just like passing up Rich for Hill was a bad decision  It's simply way too early to call, you won't be able to make a proper judgement for another year or two AT LEAST.

Darling already has the physique to dominate games whilst Pitt is still a twig essentially.

Having said that it was a massive steal for West Coast. Amazing draft for them.

Fair enough maybe too early to call, and you could argue that he's doing well in a side that are probably a bit below us (although they're doing quite well so far) but I thought he'd be more suited to our needs than Pitt. Once again not having a go at Pitt at all, Darling is just a monster. That being said Pitt has shown good signs as well, but yeah needs to develop his frame further. Darling was always highly touted and he's from WA, just thought it made a bit more sense.

Don't really listen to those "discipline" issues he had, good club and manager can get him on the right path.

Darling. Easily.

How did he slide all the way to the 2nd round? This kid is a gun. 3 very good games and today he has been amazing. 24 touches, 7 marks, 2 tackles, 1 goal with 5mins to go.

Beastly at 18 and is only going to keep growing :D:thumbsu:

Darling was very good but I get the feeling we'll be seeing better from him in the next few games so I wouldn't be too disappointed if he didn't get the nomination.
Today he proved that he can certainly hack it up the ground but I'd like to see him deeper where his body-work and contested marking can be used to full effect.
Haven't had a good FF in a while.

A forward line of Kennedy, Lecras and Darling with Strijk and Hams feeding off them and Naitanui rotating through has me salivating.

Different positions though - both Rich and Hill were mids. Darling is a KPP/utility and Pitt is a mid/flanker. Even if Pitt improves to be better than Darling, he will never play the role Darling can.

Pittard 25 touches with 19 kicks and 4 marks, 1 tackle in a winning team. Also played really well last week verses Geelong in a team that got smashed. Had 27 touches there as well. currently ranked number 1 for goal assist in the 'rising stars' category as well, at least according to footywire.

Would have to be between Pittard and Darling at this stage unless someone has a big game tomorrow. Hard to split on today's game, but Pittard would probably get it if they're taking consistency into account considering that he was unlucky to miss out last week.

winning team will probably put pittard in front i'd say

Maybe I'm underestimating Melbourne but I would think there is a good chance some of the Suns boys get a chance to shine against slightly easier opposition tomorrow. Prestia has been impressive and still waiting for Swallow to have a big game.
