Plenty of positives from some of the young lads, and also many aspects and moments they will learn from

Standouts for me were Glass, CJ, Walker and Rough. Jones also does a fair bit right, just needs time

Two points are better than none, but we had a couple of good chances to win it at the end

A number of positives out of the game - CJ, jones, glass, Ross and walker looked promising.

Glass looks much better as a mid - strong body and pace. Ross and walker have talent - just need another preseason or two. CJ should get a game this year - brings some dynamism we’re are missing. Interesting to see where jones is at in 12 months - could go past cousins.

Shoey was moving okay for once. His footskills are needed. Rough kicked a bag but was playing against a kid and just using his experience.

On the negative miles didn’t impress nor pitt. Too early to call on kosi and Reeves.

Go passed Cousins? I just don't get why people think he is a stop gap for us. 25 touches and a goal today. Not sure why people think he hasn't got anymore improvement? He is a terrific young player and young leader for us who is already a very competent AFL level player.

Cousins is a very good player. Looks set to start to take the next steps in his development. He’s already jumped ahead of Howe and if he keeps playing like he did today he won’t be going anywhere

Fan of Cousins too but he does have his limitations. Hopefully he continues to develop and cements a spot in our starting 18. He's got a real 'old fashioned footballer' look about him for mine.

Kosi does some really nice things, incredibly smart tap on when he went forward during the 4th.
I'll never understand how a player with the kicking ability like Walker is able to fall so late into the draft, that goal he kicked was purer class.

best performance was from CJ, if Jiath doesnt get a game for Hawthorn this year ill be surprised, took a bunch of pack marks and was very handy down back, i liked what i saw from Reeves, he will tower over most ruckmen in the VFL, so he will have to get clearances and marks around the ground as well as develop his frame, Roughead did well with 5 goals, but was fed beautiful passes all game, he must be loving the service he gets in the VFL, Kosi looks good and is developing, not too far off, Walker is a different type of forw, good contested mark for his size and lovely kick for goal, his slow movement means his defensive side could be exposed though?, Ross is a little out of form but is still clever as always good x-factor about him, Glass was up and down during the game, had some shockers and then had some good moments, if he can drop the amount of shocker moments he could improve.

K.Dunkley and Mascitti had solid games for 2 players who are potential mid season draft candidates

the only player that i would want to see play for Hawthorn next week is Jiath

Notwithstanding the five goals, I don't think Roughead did enough to earn promotion. Still let his man run off him from time to time, even though they were forced to pay him more attention as a four-time premiership player than they would pay other forwards.

I suspect the Hawks will name him on the extended interchange bench on Thursday night, but he'll miss out on selection.

Pitto and Rough were influential but agreed: CJ was that standout. Defensively often covered 2 players as the Dogs rushed forward and, to my eye, he shut down the attacks as well as any current AFL player. His 3rd-man-up marks and spoils were eye catching and his kicks were spot on. Offensively he linked up well.
Just about every player on the ground showed the flaw in their game that has them currently playing 2nds. But I failed to see a flaw in CJ’s game.
If Scrimshaw is injured 🤕, I’d be happy to see CJ named on-ground to play (though is he a Cat B rookie? and so not eledgible... if so it is a shame: he deserves promotion).

Watched it today. Gee we had our chances at the end there! Just some inexperience from a few of the younger players. I thought Schoey had a good game, seemed to get a lot of the ball and his kicking is elite as usual. Rough was good, will help his confidence but Clarko will not rush him back in by the sounds of it.
