One thing is for certain NOBODY IS COMING IN FOR LESTER! He is an INSPIRATION.
Is 'The General' title currently vacant, because I think it could be his. I know you've been an advocate before anyone believed, but it really is great to see someone who has stuck with the club, kept himself ready and really taking his opportunity.

Absolutely. He is The Backline General.
#GeneralLester

Wow that was a great win. VIC supporters I hope you enjoyed it at the game. I haven't seen him mentioned, but have to give props to Motty, that boy tries his heart out, and gives us some great run off the back line. With Kiddy and McKenna out he's really tried to fill that void.

Bailey is so frustrating, if he just executed 50% of what he was trying to do he'd be elite. I'm still not sold on Dizzy in the forward line, but what he has provided is some good defensive grunt.

Apart from 3-4 minutes in the 4th that was a really well executed game, great intensity and really team-focused play. Let's back it up with a big home win next week and we are back in the hunt.
Gardiner was terrible tonight. He really was. He was towelled up.

Like a fine wine....improving with age.

Defuses so many dangerous situations with his football smarts.

I gave him a vote.....he bloody deserved it

Came off his man to affect a lot of contests from what I saw early too. Love Froggy, what a player. Looking back in my mind I remember Lester & Golby early on in the team together. Did they come into the team at the same time?

It's hard to believe we ever considered him slow.
Lester was never slow. That was the most ridiculous example of groupthink ever seen on our board. It was right up there with Sam Sheldon deserves a game each week in the seniors because he “plays his role.” Lester has alway been a great endurance runner with good acceleration and closing speed. He also reads the play extraordinarily well and is a ferocious tackler. He has always been a strong intercept mark and rebounding defender.

Was at the game. I thought we were great all game last week and we carried that same team effort into this one. We looked switched on defensively all night. A lot harder edge to us, not the Essendon one, the last two weeks.

The forward group playing like a team again.

That was hands down the hardest I’ve seen Charlie Cameron work. Very pleasing to see.

Still not convinced on Hipwood. Hats off to him for a great first quarter but that was it for the rest of the night. Doesn’t use his athleticism enough.

Lester was really good. Dunkley destroyed Oliver in the first half. Looked like Berry had Petracca at times and kept him quiet around stoppage too.

The tackling was immense as well. Had a big influence in the game.

Last quarter we were just tired and lost a few centre clearances due mainly to Gawn’s influence. We also started to pick out Lever and McDonald. But all in all much better signs.

Rayners game looked far more comfortable and consistent last night. Relying on a mixture of attributes and being relatively clean. In the past he has always looked stressed, funbly and rushed.

Just watched most of the replay WITH the TV commentary on

MY God, Selwood is bog awful special comments person.

Difficult to decide whether he's Captain Obvious or Captain Oblivious
I'm watching the replay now and yes Joel is the epitome of a Vanilla ordinary comments person, his punditry would do a better job than Mogadon.

I knew he was good live but watching the replay I probably erred not giving a Fab5 vote to Jarrod Berry, he was superb, 23 disposals, 10 marks, 8 tackles and ran his backside off. His best game in a long while.

Have to watch the replay, but did it seem like he was playing more in and around the contest last night? I thought similar this week and thought he played better against NM than he has previously too.

Probably is helped by some more consistent midfield time. Is actually focusing on the midfield craft more now that the time spent there is up compared to being forward.

He's definitely been more involved in congestion in the last couple of weeks. And I'm loving it. He's one of the few guys who can actually stand up to the physicality teams like Melbourne, Carlton and Port will throw at us inside.

If he is able to continue to shoulder (pun intended) this load, he absolutely becomes the guy we're searching for who says "come with me" and lifts the rest of the team with his example, along with Neale.

Our midfield looking and is a lot more "big bodied" with Berry, Dunkley and Rayner in there.
