The simple fact is we didn’t want to play a ruckman when we had the chance a few weeks ago. It’s completley unbalanced the team and again we’ve made selections that make no sense. I’m not getting angry anymore, this club will always be a part of me but it’s not worth the emotional energy.

Symptomatic of most of our losses to decent teams in the Hinkley era. We have a ludicrous inside 50 count because we employ the same, amateur-level dumb tactic of blindly bombing it into the forward pockets with every entry. All we’re doing is making the lives of opposition defenders easier - they barely have to slap the ball over the line half the time such is the extent we kick to the boundary.

Not to mention the mind-numbingly awful skill errors. Our game plan is structurally sound in theory however it all falls apart when the players cough the ball up straight to an oppo player. All of a sudden we’re caught with our pants down as we’ve worked our arses off slamming the ball to the forward pocket for no reward ten times and they’ll counter-attack once and answer with a goal.

Ken has too much faith in the playing group. His game plan is simply asking too much and they can’t deliver. Who’s shoulders the blame lays on is up for debate, but it’s not working. This is Ken’s sixth year, and we’re still losing games in the same manner we’ve always been.

Same biased selection policy. Same idealistic yet wholly unrealistic game plan. Same basic skill errors. Same result.
