Might see some changes this week, but who?

Morrison put his hand up at Box Hill.

Sounds like this weeks training will be a “bring your mouthguards” situation.

Go at it.

I'd like to see them try something different in the middle. HH to play a full game and maybe someone like Stephens gets a shot as well. Season is done in terms of finals so might as well give Stephens a block of games and find out if he's worth giving another contract to. I think nash is still best 22 at his best but horribly out of form.

Gunston didn't look great a few weeks ago, but can't be much worse than chol performance wise and will at least offer some on field leadership / coaching to help ramma.

Butler seems lost at the level, not sure if his role in the seniors is different to what he plays at BH, or whether he's just one of those dominates the vfl and not quite up to it at afl level players. If it's role then there's clearly not a spot for him at the moment.

In: gunston, Stephens , morrison
Out: chol, nash, butler

HH a full game and ward as the sub.

Hopefully get cj, breust and Lewis back the week after. If cj is fit I think he comes straight in but I feel like they'll give him another week.

Not sure if the phrase is you are as good as the last thing you did or the next thing you do but based purely on what the team showed last night against GCS there is not a snowball's chance in hell that we will beat North. We have gone into every game this year thinking the team will improve and turn things around and every week we experience massive disappointment. It usually unfolds within the first 5 to 10 minutes and then its all over. Why should next week be different?

Because it is the day after the game...

If Lewis returns, Ramma Lewis and Chol could well kick 15 goals between them. North have conceded bags to all of their Key Fwd opponents all year.

FFS did you watch the North game today? By your own reasoning, we should thrash them if they are only as good as the last thing they did. Logic not your strong suit?

Sorry Grumbles but this is exactly how not to go into a football match. It is an interesting point however, because it does seem to me that the team went into the Melbourne match with a white flag because their defence in virtually impenetrable (chip, chip) and last night's game perhaps over thinking the conditions ie, the so called humidity.

You said (in effect) "you are only as good as your last game"

But only want to apply that logic to Hawthorn. So Hawthorn is only as good as it's last game, but North, who were FAR more putrid, can ignore their last game. Just not logical.

Lewis and Gunston to come in for Ramsden and Butler but what about midfield changes? They were diabolical as a collective unit!
Gunston did nothing for Box Hill.

We should perhaps cry our collective eyes out if things are dire enough for him to come back. He will get a swansong game at some point. But at this point?

Am assuming none of Lewis, Jiath, Day, Wingard, Breust or Watson are available this week - would be pleasantly surprised if they were.

I really want to see Sicily freed up to play in the role he has historically dominated and enable him to 'lead' and direct.

Would like;
  • Hardwick to start down back.
  • Moore and Amon to start as midfielders.
  • Weddle to start as our third tall up forward. North have no one down back that could possibly go with him.

Mackenzie + Butler > Serong + Morrison

Hustwaite to come into the 22, and i don't give a **** which one of Ward, MacDonald or Nash are sub.

I think what I meant was to focus on one's own game. Anyway, by your logic Clarko preps North this week based on how putrid we were last night and so tells the fellas the Hawks will be an easy kill. No worries. Nil all draw.
