Very interested to see what they do with Billings

I reckon they will consider him for the sub, if you play well in the time youg et as sub you might get a promotion kind of thing. Hhe looked like he was just going when he had to last weekend, and he was a class above in just about every area, he won free kicks a couple times tackling, kicked a few snags, his kicking was a standout in that.

But apart from King in for Cordy, I'm honestly struggling to see any INs that are clear cut. I have rollercoaster of emotions with old Ronnie Byrnes, the bloke will gut run for a loose ball like his life depends on it, then about 20% of the time wildly miss his target with it. Ideally Ross throws down the gauntlet to any of the part time mid/wing/half backers looking to take his spot and says "right, we rate you're kicking, overhead marking Billings, but we need pressure, we'll review your GPS tracker end of game and decide on that" or something similar.

No reason to boo JHF , we have lots of players from other clubs so whats the big deal. We would have been very happy if he choose to play for us . Besides who wouldnt want to leave North at the start of their career.

The short turn around may play a part in how some pull up

Did Billings play a full game in the VFL?

This is their first game at Marvel. It should be even contest, but I think we will pull our strings, wrap it up by 3rd quarter.

Billings played 3/4. Rested the 4th I believe.

Billings was good in the vfl but still needs some more time and match practise.
Which he’ll only get this week if he’s in the 23.

If we’re not going to be playing Windy in the midfield then going forward for the remainder of the year Billings is likely to contribute much more, so with that being the case I’d prioritise him getting sub duties.

Sounds a very good chance that Port will be without any of the following this week:

Dixon
Marshall
Georgiades
Jonas
Anyone that remotely resembles an AFL standard option for the ruck. Unless they play Finlayson there, which robs them of his presence forward.

If Dixon doesn’t get up, their only “talls” that would be considered AFL standard would be Allir and Finlayson, by the looks of it.

Wilkie, Battle and co could have a field day in the air.

Pou as sub for management purposes (this week or next) makes a whole lot of sense to me if billings was ready to go weeks ago and they've been conservative in holding him back.

Mainly liked this post because of your avatar. Paton mad dogging him while Ginnivan asks for some help. He's not an umpire you dandy, you'll get no help here.

Wouldn’t hate Windy for JB just to see how he goes under RTB. Maybe we could unearth the 2015 JB who played the Dogs and was then buried under 50 ft of Cho/Ratts gameplan garbage
Was a lot more than just one game. Had two top 5 finishes in the B&F by the age of 24.

He was every bit as good as Pou in his first year, including a game of 25 disposals (@100% DE!) and 3 goals. While in just his 50th game, at 21yo, he had 30 disposals, 12 marks and kicked 5 goals!

We need Ross and co. to do their thing with him and get him playing at a similar level to Maso.

They've had our number since 2012 and we've only beaten them once since then (in Adelaide in 2020).

I'm not so worried about the history - this team just feels mentally stronger and backing the system seems to over power any individual anxieties.

Pep Guardiola was interviewed before the Champions League Bayern game last week and asked if he thought they would come back in their second leg given their history. His response was that they are playing against 11 players, not the club history and that the history starts after the game.

That kind of messaging would be really important as it could easily creep into players heads that somehow the oppositions history has any bearing on the next game and they are up against it.

I reckon that kind of mindset is what Lyon is instilling in the team and he seems to be doing a great job at blocking the outside noise. If we're going to get to that 2nd flag the players have to forget about our history, or the elements of it which have been a bit of a burden, and just look forward.

Think we win by 21 points.

Don't see many changes, really interesting to see if Billings gets the nod after 1 week in the VFL showing pretty good form. I can see him being on the bench for this one and coming on later.

Billings has AA Potential. He most likely won’t make it this year. But he’s basically what Mase was at North, he’s had his moments, he won games for them and inconsistency cost him, and injuries.

I’m kind of seeing this pattern with some of our boys too.

I think Billings will absolutely thrive under RTB, he just seems like can be become that guy we all hoped for.

I know he had some good training reports, he was pre good in that preseason game.

I think Billings for Windy could happen this week or next depending on how he pulls up on the short break.

Not a fan of playing a 19yr old for 15minutes a game as sub and thinking that counts as a full games experience, dont mind the odd game but if he was to be there for a month it would be a bit of a waste imo.

I much rather him develop in the 2nds then play 10 mins when the game is done.

Windy is talented but he doesn’t offer the versatility like Billings.

Billings for Pou seems the most like-for-like change, Pou's ToG was low and he looked a bit off, could be the ideal week for a rest.

Please no Bytel as sub, just give the kid a game and see what he does.
