How's the weather looking in Melbourne today?

Fine and dandy at the moment, but subject to change. Rain and hail predicted for tonight, so hopefully we'll be done and won before hand. Really hope Everitt isn't the sub today. Much prefer Nippa or Harry.

I'm not saying TDL has been treated unfairly, he's been treated fairly in comparison to the majority of players. Comparing his performances to, say, Everitt, would be perfectly valid - even though they play completely different roles - or say, Jesse White. But not Jetta.

So you're claiming the selection committee are biased ? Their job is to put together the best team, not to play sentimental favourites. That's what fans do.

If TDL put the work in for games he'd get them. Jetta's a paddock ahead in attitude and commitment, that's obvious from the amount of improvement he's shown over the preseason. Clearly the coach and selectors have taken that into account. If a player has faults but is working hard to correct those faults then they should naturally get the game time. What we saw from Jetta was a more or less constant improvement that he carried through into 2012. The coach would know that he'll use the game time to put his training into practice.

Regardless, Jetta has proven the coach and selectors 100% right for persisting with him. More kudos to them. Clearly they see the bigger picture.

TDL has his moment in the sun today. He's obviously worked hard enough to get a game, albeit with a bit of luck through injuries. He will know what's expected of him and he needs to demonstrate the commitment to carry that through 4/4 of senior football. If he kicks 4 and walks off the ground thinking that's all he needs to do he'll soon enough find himself back in the ressies. If he kicks 1, works his defensive butt off, sticks to his coach's instructions, takes on board any criticism and trains hard to rectify his faults and improves little by little he'll get as much 'luck' as Jetta had.

Ditto for White or any other fringe player. Fairness or unfairness in selection is purely in the mind of fans.
