Hmm I could do that as well.

Whats better?

Libba and Burgess to Adams and Greene (8k left)
Scrim and Burgess and Answerth and Boak (101k left)
Who is your cover for Scrim?

So basically Scrim cover + Adams + Greene vs Libba + Answerth + Boak + 93k

I like the bottom option, Boak is the only one you've listed that is guaranteed to be top 6 in his position and you save 93k. First option can seriously burn you if Greene missed games, and Adams seems like he will have quite a few 80-90 type scores just because not all the collingwood mids can go 110+ in the same game (very rarely maybe)

Get Hayes or Answerth this week? Hayes comes at an extra cost but think he is a better scorer. Maybe Answerth has better JS though.
Going by some lions fans Im not sure Anwerth has good JS. Bailey to come back in. Im also not convinced Answerth will score they way he did on going. I also ddont think Hayes is the bees nees Rookie either, but probably equal to better JS and better scoring.

Forgot about bailey. He is a walk up start for brissy so that definitely throws a spanner in the works

Good on you to not sit 800K on your bench
You think you will be able to get Whitfield back easily in a couple of weeks
All it takes is a few injuries or resting of players to push these plans back week by week.

At this stage, I think I will bench Whitfield and do
Constable --> J.Ross
Scrimshaw --> Merrett (via Duursma)

Stack on field over Whitfield for 1 week (-40 points probably). I can live with that

Well this is grim.. or should I say Scrim..? :drunk:

Now have to decide who to field out of Lockhart or Answerth 🤢

Bringing in Answerth but would I be better off taking the punt on someone else? Isn’t really any options forward (got Larkey) or back

yeah. with the cash and both Williams and brodie smith as high mid rangers a swap is quite easy. potentially even libba to whitfield through dpp. plenty of options.

TDC - always good for a laugh. I lol'd.

Sadly I'm not here for my good looks or Fantasy Football ability.....

Nor, if you saw the original version - my typing or spelling.....

Yeah I’m also looking at doing the Constable to Ross trade too. Think Ross has similar output and for 130K less

I just can't understand all these people talking about "Oh i will feel ok if i put (so and so) on the field in Whitfields spot, because he will score well, and hold Whitfield". Its great that that guy will score well, but you still have 800K on your bench in 1 player. Field "so and so" in Whitfields spot and upgrade somewhere else with Whitfields money. Even better. People act like trading Whitfield out means they will be just losing his points. You can get an equally (or more) valuable player for his money. Unless, of course, you have screaming needs to use trades elsewhere

Also take into account the trades you will have to sacrifice in coming weeks to get Whitfield back in, whilst the remaining coaches can address other upgrades during this time. This is a crucial time for upgrades as most rookies are reaching if not already hit their peak value.

On form so far this year, Whitfield (with Lloyd) appear at least 10ppg better than the next crop of defenders.

A move like dumping Whitfield would have made more sense if this injury had've happened earlier on in the season. I got rid of Merrett after Round 1 because he was going to bleed cash with the intention of getting back on once he had hit his floor. Things happened in the subsequent weeks (Setterfield, Sheed, Elliott, Goldstein, Burgess, B.Scott) that all became higher priorities than trying to get Merrett back in, and now I am probably paying around 30k more for him than he was worth after R1.

I hadn't completely ruled out trading Whitfield, but with 300k in the bank and Scrimshaw and Constable on field, it made more sense to upgrade there and field Stack for a week.

Now that avi I like!

I dunno if I'd call Steele a flop, tbh.

Scores for his first 6 rounds:

111
96
116
95
88
87

Averaging about 5 more PPG than he was priced at. Could definitely be worse
Agreed. I was tempted, thinking he might average 105 or so, and he still may because he can go big, but going at 98 when priced at 94, not too bad.

There were lots of good choices in that price range. I went against Sloane because he looked like copping 8 tags in the first 10 rounds; I doubt he's had any; maybe one. Same goes for Zorko. Then there was Adams, Taranto, Bont, Dusty, O'Meara etc.

After looking at my matchup this week again, i scrapped my previous plan and decided to just bank the cap. This trade should leave me in just about the same spot and puts me at 424K. With money to make on top of it. Think I may have been getting a bit too big for my britches....
