Round 7 Trades

Some earlier talk of trading swan out for 7 weeks has got me thinking. Im sitting 1034 with 22 trades left and $4k. Have pendles and swan about to warm the bench for a couple of weeks.

Thinking swan->selwood and Broughton->enright.
I reckon this will give a 300 point bonus over the next 7 weeks assuming Hibberd/Bewick cover swans bye's.
Also gives existing cash cows more time to fatten up and (fingers crossed) new cash cows to arrive on the scene. This cash can fund the trade back in.
4 trades to bring in selwood and enright would be about right anyway wouldn't it?

What do you think?
Too ballsy/mad or gutsy?

first major rookie upgrades for season :D

Heppell > Mitchell
Swallow > Mundy

Whilst really would prefer to wait another 2 weeks for these upgrades, I need the league wins now in Rd 7 - so forgoing further upside in Heppell/Swallow.

Still have 16 rookies and $120K after these trades so alot more upgrades to come.

I'm thinking about doing the same with Swallow, but Heppell is playing in a good team and will be one of the last upgraded in my backs

If the GC have more quarters like the 1st on the weekend, he may hardly touch the pill

I have enough cash to do Pittard to Harvey and Swallow to Priddis

Gives me a MPP gun and a midfield gun to get me going. have had a horrible start.

Could also help with Eliminator
So youre trading your 2 of your best rookies, no where near their peak? Why?

Heppel could be a top 10 back and is DP, Swallow will probably go through and play 20+ games and only keep improving his average.

Why dont you upgrade some of your lesser likely rookies...

Maybe he doesn't have the cash?

i do think trading Heppell is a tad on the crazy side, and while Swallow may play 20 games, you'd be crazy not to upgrade him to someone from a better team

Would have preferred to keep for 2 more weeks - these 2 are closest to their end price of my mid rookies in my opinion and price rises will slow dramatically. Have 16 rookies in total afterwards - cash will still grow a lot.

Really need to get across the board wins the next 2 weeks to keep chances of top4 finishes and these trades give me very high probability of it.

First off, I know my decision blah blah, but my decisions are always crap.

Got just under $200k in hand.

Spend basically all my money to get Paul Chapman the legend.
(Chris Knights -> Paul Chapman + 30k)

OR

Over the next two weeks, bring in Nathan Fyfe and then Brendan Goddard.
(Knights -> Fyfe, Heppell -> Goddard) The latter trade assuming Heppell goes up, God goes down.

Really need some help on this one, also flexible if there is a better option than Fyfe at around the same price.

I love Chappy though and he just won't stop pumping out the tons!!

Why TF would anyone be trading out Heppell this week or any other week?:confused:

Anyway, I've waited 6 weeks for this trade....McEvoy>Sandilands.

Good trades although I dont think you should be trading out Libba so soon.
I agree, but it is out of him, Curnow and Heppel.

I'll get Hibberd in which will allow me to swap Heppel into defence and play as my D7. Curnow will be the perfect M7.

Still have Polec, Harris and Krakour making me some cash.

Duigan out, but who for?

Would prefer to get a playing rookie in, but I have 126.9k in my bank but I'm saving that for Smith -> Cox in a few weeks time.

Considering Hibberd, but if I'm to do that trade, will probably wait 'til next week and also upgrade Swallow/Harris to Pendles. Maybe even Conca, though I was expecting more from him.

But the main point of this post is, Duigan out for who and when?

Possibly keep Duigan and trade one of my Mid Rookies for Hibberd so I've got the DPP link with Gibbs/Goddard/Heppel.

is higgins injured or something?

if higgins is back in this week would you still do this trade?
Hearing whispers of groin soreness. Not good signs for DT.

I knew the risks before I got him. Honestly thought he had gotten over his injury concerns. Not willing to risk him now. Didn't hurt me too much last week as Krakour covered.

Chapman, like Higgins has had his injury concerns but seems to be over them at the moment.

Risk vs reward, happy to take the risk with Chappy as he can average over 105.

EDIT

To answer your second question... I'm not sure.

really could do with some league wins this week so think ill be going

duigan --> hibberd (pending selection)

bruce --> deledio/enright.

then will swap hibberd into midfield for heppell, heppell to become a mainstay in defence, at least for the time being, hibberd can sit on my bench in the mids for a while

Does anyone think its too early to trade out Libba this week? It would enable me to upgrade Petrie to Chapman, and then I could also get Pavlich the following week.

My only concern, is that both Libba and Petrie still have 1 more good price rise each to go, and i could be loosing 40-50k by not waiting.

Otten $197,000 BE 9
Laidler $243,100 BE 32
Duigan $217,500 BE 71
Swallow $256,900 BE 38
Harris $209,700 BE 12

Bank $142,900

Do I upgrade Duigan to Adcock, or downgrade him to Hibberd and pocket another $125k?

I also have Richardson and Prestia on the bench doing nothing, but their values will go up if they get recalled. Was planning to upgrade Krakouer but after his big game against the Dogs will go up again this week.

Ryder is finished, hes rotting away in the forward line. Im trading him to Sandilands this week.

This...

I was close to making this trade last week, despite 211's bye due to financial constraints. Was hoping Ryder could at least smash out 100. That didn't quite happen although he was on 70 halfway through the 3rd.

Dud pick in the end...

I know the golden rules applying to trading premiums/side trading etc, but it it totally stupid to upgrade Riewoldt to Fyfe this week, and Higgins to Chapman if he is still out next week?

My forward line would then look like

Franklin Chapman Goodes Fyfe Pav Knights Darling Petrie Matera Richardson

Or would it be a better move to burn a little more cash and upgrade Petrie to Chapman if Higgins looks like getting back? Would make my forward line alot more complete, but I feel like this first injury will be one in a long, frustrating line.

duigan's BE is nowhere near 71.. way less

Duigans official break even, according to assistant coach, is 71.

Hence the need to cash him in this week as he will most likely not make it and go down in price, wont loose too much though and they have the bye in Rnd8 so i guess alot will give him one more round.
