Round 7 Trades

Duncan/Higgins --> Chapman

Maybe...

Duigan --> Jacobs/Puopolo? (although this is probably better off waiting at least a week as Duigan won't drop too much, and his BE is attainable)

Other option is to downgrade an unmatured rookie, and try to bring Chapman in that way, then look to get Didak or Enright in next week.

Probably only Duigan>Hibberd this week but maybe even hold that off till next week. Depends on whether I think ill want to make 2 trades next week. I'll have 214,400 in the bank if i do make that trade.

Don't really have any other options as other rookies haven't quite peaked or played enough and most of my targets are still carrying high B/Es. There's definitely some juicy targets coming up in the mids and forwards, the only guy I was considering this week is Murphy but didn't want too many Carlton players.

What are peoples thoughts on Knights? Has done a sterling job for me so far but looking to maybe offload him to a Didak/O'Keefe/Goodes in the next couple of weeks..is he worth hanging on to longer? Has been really consistent so far (every score between 70-90) but I'm not sure it will last.

O'Keefe's not going that well and for that matter neither is Didak or Goodes.
With Knights playing a Melbourne team in bad form and the GC he will probably go up another $40k making him close to being a 7th fwd.

I have an issue this week with Higgins out and having to now play Tapscott, Darling and Matera in my fwd line with no reserve.
Thinking Higgins to Fyfe as he has Richmond, WC, Port, Brisbane and GC in his next 9 games which are all games he could easily get 100.

Have $260k in the bank so if I go
Higgins > Fyfe and Duigan > Hibberd (+ $140K)
this week then I will have anough cash to go
Swallow > Swan and Harris/Libba > Mitchell next week.

That will leave me with 16 trades and if Curnow stays as my 6th mid I will need only 1 upgrade in defence and 2 in the fowards.

Round 7
Duigan -> Back Rookie
Round 8
Tapscott -> Forward Rookie
Otten -> Enright
Round 9
Darling > Forward Rookie
Swallow ->Watson
Round 10
Curnow -> Montagna
or
Knights -> Chapman

Leaving me with 13 trades left and only one upgrade left

Duigans official break even, according to assistant coach, is 71.

Hence the need to cash him in this week as he will most likely not make it and go down in price, wont loose too much though and they have the bye in Rnd8 so i guess alot will give him one more round.

I am going to hold for one more week at least.

I have Stanley, Lower, Duigan & Luke Thompson. Duigan would be the obvious choice to upgrade right now but Carlton don't have the bye until round 8 and I would like to see all of the above for one more week before hiring and firing. Even if Duigan does not crack his BE, he will not lose much value anyway.

Duigan > L.Thompson
Dawes > Chapman

or

Liberatore > Wallis
Swallow > Chapman

I would personally prefer the 1st option as Dawes is too inconsistant, and Libba & Swallow will continue to go up in value. As well as i will have 2 dpp's in my forwardline, and 2 in my midfield to swap around during the year.

Would appreciate some feedback.

Duigan > Thomson (for cash, and cover)
Swallow > Wallis (if necessary)

Upgrade Chappy next week. Personally I wouldnt get rid of Libba nor Swallow if you could help it, too much money to be made. Get rid of Duigan though.

Perhaps Dawes to Harper for cover this week and upgrade Swallow to Chappy next.

Stuck here guys.

I've got duigan, but no cash to do a straight upgrade.

Do I offload duigan for thompson and cop the 41k premium for not getting him last round? I do not want to get hibberd in the backline as I want to get him in the midfield to re-establish my back/mid link (offloaded buckley a while ago) next week.

Or do I trade duigan for enright and swallow for hibberd?

Swallow has what, 25-30k left in him if he keeps going as is? Although i'll miss out on that, i'll be able to get enright this round and I have a league opponent I really want to beat who also has him (ie nullifying him could give me the edge as I think I have him covered on the rest of the field). This trade could net me 40-60 points more this round. Any thoughts?

PS Also have tapscott, richardson and batchelor to offload in the coming weeks, any ideas using richardson instead of swallow would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

I guess I wanted to bring in Chapman this week because i feel he will have a big game against North, & his price will go up.

I'm thinking Duigan for hibberd, then Higgins up to Chapman

Getting Hibberd in the backline with open up a DPP link with Heppel in my mids. Heppel looks to be a pretty handy back at thist stage.

thoughts?

Looks like a very solid move. I also have Higgins but I am reluctant to trade him out.

Thank God we are back to normal schedule, didn't have enough time to properly analyse trading last week, so didn't make any.

Richardson and Duigan the only possibilities this week.

Might do a double downgrade if I feel the options are right.

I'm reluctant if he's named this week. If he's out for a bit Chappy looks very tempting.

Should I go:

Duigan > L Thompson
N Riewoldt > Nat Fyfe

Duigan > Puopolo
N Riewoldt > Chapman

See above, if I don't trade Higgins to Chappy it's likely I'll do Duigan to Thompson and get Fyfe in the midfield for either Harris or Conca. I'm frustrated by NRoo at the moment but not ready to chuck it in with him completely yet.

Then again I'm reluctant to trust my own advice so I'd seek a second opinion.

N Riewoldt will come good, had a great second half last week untill he copped that knock, will be hanging on to him.

Dugian > Hibbard

Tapscott > Didak

I don't know what N Riewoldt you were watching last week, but he got concussion towards the end of the 3rd quater, didn't play the 4th and basically spudded it up the entire game.

Sticking with Riewoldt.

Anyone got any thoughts on what I posted above?

Leaning towards Duigan to Puopolo this week (or the cheapest rookie back available - how likely is puopolo?) for a gain of 125k, then Swallow to Hibberd and Batchelor to Enright next week for a loss of approx 25k the following week. Then Harris to Gram the week after that provided their price difference is only 100k or so.

Duigan is gawn

i'm tossing up between 134k L.Thompson v 92k Puopolo

if Puopolo is guaranteed a game i'll probably go with him because the extra 42k is crucial for snaring Montagna in the following week

I'm also tossing up between Puopolo and L. Thompson. If I go with Puopolo, then I have the opportunity to upgrade Riewoldt and get in Chappy (he's due to have a big game vs Roos) and make him captain.

I am really thinking hard about this too.

Even at his current average, Thompson will fly up another $80k in the next 3 weeks (per FF Genie) and maybe $110k over the long term. Pull a few more 90s like last week and he'll go even higher. Hes KPD size but is more of a run and carry player from what I understand and could keep racking up the possessions.

Puopolo, on the other hand, could end up playing the dour/shut down defender role. Although he is mature age and ready to go, and with Cam Bruce out he is likely to continue his VFL game style and collect reasonable stats as a rebounding defender.

I'm going Puopolo because the absence of Bruce has really opened a door, and even though you wouldn't want him playing the lock down defender role initially, at least his ability to play that role gives him some job flexibility/security once bruce is back.
