Round 7 Trades

Ok... would I be crazy to trade out Swan now? Misses 2 of the next 7 rounds and could potentially fund much of the trading I'd like to do in the next 4 weeks. Obviously I'd then look to bring him back round 14. Crazy???

Insane would be a better word....just out of mild interest, who would you be using the Swannie funds on to bring in?

OR it's a masterstroke of thinking out the square. I doubt I'll have the guts to do it, but if you found the right target you free up a lot of cash and avoid losing 250 points (less rookie score) through the byes. If you think his price will drop further then it could be a great trade.

HYPOTHETICAL
Trade Swan to Mundy/Mitchell (for example) free up $60K+
If Swan has 1 more bad score between Round 7 and 13 and his price may not shoot up again (potentially dropping down another $40K+)
$60K+ = 15 points a week (or Chappy instead of Sylvia)

So Mundy/Mitchell and Chappy for 7 rounds against Sylvia (7 rounds) and Swan (5 rounds). Might be the edge you need to shoot up the rankings.

It's not the worst idea in the world if you still somehow have 22+ trades left. The problem though would be getting Swan back in. It's not easy bringing these ultra premium mids in, cash generation is becoming hard and these guys are just so expensive.

If you had 22+ trades left, and had 5 premium mids (including Swan), it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to trade him to say Iles and then use the 400k to make 3 other upgrades. As i said though, it would be hard to bring him back in.

Going to have to wait right up until Friday at 3:30pm for the teams.

Not sure who has the best job security... Hibberd or Pederson. Duigan is definitely getting traded out this week just not sure who for.

On a side note, it appears over 17000 people traded out Krakouer before the start of round 6. Thats gotta hurt.

Losing paitence with saints players. Going to stick it out with Goddard but really looking at getting rid of Gilbert or Riewoldt.

Is there any reason why Duigan down to Hibbert then Gilbert to Enright or Riewoldt to Chapman would be a stupid move?

Roo was knocked out and anyone coming back from a concussion has gone badly for a while... plus the saints are just so bad and they have a fair few hard games coming up. I can't see either of them turning the corner anytime soon.

I traded him last week for Fyfe. Slightly disappointed especially as it was either him or Richo to upgrade and his omission forced my hand.

Still, I wouldn't consider it a terrible trade. I see Fyfe as a top 7 forward and he may not be that cheap again this season. The cash that Krak generates may be offset by the increase in Fyfe's value.

This is where the game becomes all so interesting

Trade Swan and everyone will tell you your stupid. But he could well become 420k. That means your missing his bye and saving 60k. You could also make 380k by getting Iles into the team.

No one will have the guts to do the trade, but it has its merits. Having said all this if Swan comes out and scores 150 against the cats than he only loses about 20-30k. However this seems unlikely.

And who has the guts to trade in the ports best player. Hamish Hartlett, possible keeper?? maybe. 320k and avg 109 over his past 3 games, only going to get better after an interrupted pre season. Also has a breakeven of about 25-30 so he makes guaranteed money.

The game is more intertesting than ever. Like do people even think about trading 211 to Ryder??

You make 100k from the trade now. Can Ryder avg close to Sandilands for the rest of the year. Everyone thought so at the start of the year, some thought he would avg more. Maybe give it one more week, Ryder will be even cheaper and Sandilands even more expensive.

Traded the following:

Curnow out, Iles in
Duigan out, Delidio in

Iles will go up in price and Lids won't need to be traded again (injury permitted) unlike Hibberd

Ouch!!
That's gonna hurt around the time Curnow hits 400K. :p

I'm losing patience with Nick Riewoldt constantly laying down on the job while staring at his feet, I'm looking at swapping him out.

Out: N Riewoldt
In: Nat Fyfe

Riewoldts a really tough decison.

Guaranteed to lose 50k and become 300k. Is he still a keeper?? maybe not.

Ill tell you an interesting statistic. Stkilda are avg 230 points less thsi year than the year before. Divide this up between 22 players and you get 10.5 per player down. Last year Saint Nick avg 94.5 so it can be expected that he will only avg 84 if the side continues on this path. Goddard 103, Montagna 102 ect. However it can also be said from stats that the superstars are avg even less than previous years for the saints, so instead of being 10.5 down on avg they are probably more like 15 down on avg if the saints continue along this path. Meaning Riewoldt could possibly only avg 80 for the season. That is no where near keeper status and no where near top 10 forwards.

Its also a tough decision because they play these teams, Carlton, Hawks, Melbourne, Freo, Coll, Buldogs and than the Cats. These teams are all jets except dees and they have Frawley as a CHB. The reason it becomes more difficult is because Carlton, Hawks, buldogs ect have no good talls so he could potentially still dominate against them, but even if this is the case he will be cheap to bring in anyway.

Anyone that says i dont do research or help people who are more novice on here must be kidding taking some good shit.

I think i'll just keep Riewoldt, he has to come good surely, just don't want to make anymore sideways trades after my rookie adjustments earlier in the year. Looking to get Joel Selwood in this week as he is looking pretty untaggable at the moment

Hi DWD!

Ryder is finished, hes rotting away in the forward line. Im trading him to Sandilands this week.

Duigan -> Jacobs/Cripps/Puopollo

Mckenzie -> Selwood

Leaving me with a midfield of: Swan, Pendlebury, Boyd, Selwood, Murphy, Curnow (Harris, Hibberd, Prestia) and 105k in the bank.

Next week will be:

Richardson-> Harper

Knights -> Chapman

Leaving me with a forward line of: Chapman, Franklin, Goodes, Riewoldt, Rioli, Krakouer, Darling (Tapscott, Matera, Harper)

I need to trade in an ultra premium mid this week as Swan and Pendles are out. Im tossing up between Mitchell, Selwood and Redden (his form is too hot to resist).

Are there any other bargin mids which should be considered? Ive discounted Jobe as he still has 2 byes left and Chapman as I cant afford him.

Disagree, Jamison is one of the best defenders in the league imo, could easily keep Riewoldt goalless, and Gibson has been in great form this season for the Hawks. Dont see him scoring well against either of those players.

Wanted to wait until next week but playing one of the better teams in my league so pushed it a week forward:

Duigan -> B Jacobs
then
Harris -> H Hartlett or R OKeefe
or
Libba -> B Sewell

Feel Harris has slightly better JS than Libba, and someone like Sewell could be worth the extra cash over Hartlett or OKeefe, but I could also see Hartlett following in Dustin Martin's footsteps and becoming a proper premium.

Anyone wanna help sway my decision one way or the other?

Dont trade Harris or Libba if you can help it. They will still make you some cash. Also dont trade into your team ROK or Sewell. Much better premiums out there.

What do people think about ROK > J. Riewoldt?

I have Duigan > Hibberd option then ROK > Fyfe but dont want to pull the trigger on Hibberd until he is named for his 3rd game.

Have 19 trades and $20K in the bank.

Otten > L.Thompson
Duigan to Grimes/Shaw/Adcock?

Any suggestions on who to upgrade Duigan to? (already have goddard, gibbs, delidio and enright) will have about 370k
