I seem to remember Maynard #F Crabbs from JJ back in the AM days when double jay was at its peak. Then again the fact I remember AM means my memory is not that reliable these days.
With you there. The name Maynard #F Crabbs rings a bell, but at my age, the faintness of the ringing is getting more acute. I didn't ever see him live though.

Maybe another aspect is that selection committee wanted to provide HH with the opportunity to experience an ANZAC Day (Reef has already played in one)

IIRC it’s not uncommon for us to blood a player, or give a young player an opportunity to play on ANZAC Day.
True. If I recall correctly, I believe Ruscoe got a game in last years anzac game.

Heading down to the Arkaba Hotel this afternoon with my daughter to watch the game with the SA Collingwood Supporters Group. It'll just about be the next best thing to actually being at the MCG for it (which is something I really want to do one of these years).
Now dependent on how I physically feel later. The bone crushing exhaustion as a side effect of the flu vaccination I had yesterday afternoon has just started kicking in, and the idea of walking much further than my bed is unthinkable ATM.

The covid vac has the same effect on me, I practically sleep all day and can only get up for a piss

I reckon their land of the giants forward line will be good for the first quarter and then we'll just trample them
The bigger they are, the harder they'll fall.

That was me after number three for the first day or so, and it took me another day or two to be back to relative normality (or as near as a shy introvert with an Autism Spectrum Disorder can get anyway). Even if I don't end up being able to drag myself to the hotel, I can at the very least hole up in bed with my tablet and watch it on my Foxtel app.

The win will pick you up

I'd rather not. I've never had that side effect before. Mostly just a sore arm that gets better with an icing. Have existed quite happily for almost 50 years never having had the flu, and I'd take a day or two of this over flu any day of the week.

Never? Thats impressive.
I don't get the flu jab, but I rarely get sick so when I do get it I just deal with it.

Not to the best of my knowledge of what I know of the difference between a cold and the flu. I could easily be wrong (as I am about a lot of things with alarming frequency), but I don't recall ever having been that sick that I would know without a shadow of a doubt that it was flu.

You definitely would know. You tend to be in bed for a few days. And not much you can do about it but wait til it passes.

In two minds about this match.

The 5-day turnaround still concerns me. We played excellent football last Saturday and our pressure numbers were very high but I just hope that doesn't leave us flat footed with a shorter than usual turnaround.

Our best football is better than Essendon's when all things are equal, but Essendon are capable of an upset if they put their best foot forward and we're a little off in key metrics.

On the other hand, I think Essendon opting to play Goldstein, Draper, Jones and Wright all in the one team will leave them too top heavy and slow, which could allow us easy run to pressure and transition. I was expecting them to drop Draper, so it's interesting they're going for height and aerial dominance to beat us.

We always play well on Anzac Day. We've won 13 of our last 17 in the fixture and we have a 17-1-10 head to head record in our favour. Hopefully we keep maintaining this good record.
