I've just deleted one of THE most ridiculous thread derailments I've ever seen in about 20 years of BigFooty

******* hell...
Could we have a thread called "derailments" and put them in there? Honestly like reading some of the insanity (I've been involved in a few myself)

Could we carry Kosi, Lewis and Gunston in the same forward line? Clarko loved the triple threat but Sam is definitely favouring a smaller forward line.

Kosi needs to learn Lewis' leading patterns and stay out of his lanes.

Out:
Impey, Callow, Shiels, Nash, Howe

In: Jiath, Ward, DGB, Lewis, Morrison

Let Reeves get that shoulder as strong as possible. Lynch is an excellent match up for Draper so no issue going with Max again and Kosi as a chop out.

I think kozi stays. The man has kicked 7 goals in 2 games and would be super stiff to be dropped on that basis. Not sure if Reeves is ready isn't he listed as tbc still?.

If Reeves is good to go then for me Lynch would miss as I'd rather have a decent fwd who would pinch hit in the ruck in kozi than a 2nd ruck in lynch but again I'm not sure what Reeves status is.

I think playing Lewis gunston and kozi together would actually benefit each other nicely.

Sam has alot of options this week with Lewis c.j dbg ward and Morrison available for selections.

My final thoughts on changes....

IN: Lewis C.J Dbg Ward
OUT: Callow (omitted)Shiels (omitted)Nash (injured) Howe (omitted) with Impey for sub.

I don't know if Sam will make more than 4 changes but if there was a 5th then perhaps Morrison for a resting Macdonald.

Needs to be talk all over the ground. This Impey run down and a few weeks ago Kosi should of protected another Hawk going for the mark, instead went through him. Now i can understand why Chad was so upset with him last year. Kosi still has not learned his lesson yet.

I hope we obliterate Essendon to Uranus.
Ins: Lewis, CJ, DGB, Long (Reeves if he's ready)
Out: Callow, Impey, Shiels, Nash, Howe
I believe Nash being injured is the perfect chance for Long to debut.

I think Impey is still finding his feet after being in and out of side for last couple years through injury and maybe finding out where and how he fits into Sam's plan for this side.
Fair points.
With an eye looking into the future I doubt he is best 22 next year and if his form doesn't drastically improve he might not be best 22 soon. His position is most vulnerable

Lynch is a ruck.
Reeves is a ruck.
Lewis is a key forward.
Gunston is a key forward.
Kosi is a key forward being used as a second ruck.

If we are only going to pick four of them and have a ruck/forward, Kosi misses out.

Not sure if 2 pure rucks is the way 2 go. If Reeves is selected you would think the 2nd ruck may only get 30% game time in the ruck so he has to contribute most of his time at fwd.

That’s why he said Kosi out. Couldn’t have Lynch, Lewis, Kosi and Reeves. Who goes out of that four? It would be either Kosi or Lynch you’d think

Yeah it’s questionable, but I reckon both Lynch and Reeves become a bit of a headache for our opponents if they go down and sit in the goalsquare.

I like the idea of Ned Long in for Nash. Firstly he deserves a taste due to form and secondly our midfield operates much better with a big body in there. We were up against the best midfield in the comp yesterday and did alright with Nash back to his midfield role.

With you on this one. Hope he does well today and really presses his case.

No way I am picking Lynch and Reeves in the same team. Offer very little else in terms of alternate playing positions. Kosi plays 2nd ruck if necessary.

Ward > Shiels
Long > Nash
Lewis > Callow
Jiath > Impey
Reeves > Kozi*
boom. this.

Coming over for this game is general admin fine at marvel?. It has been years since I've watched a game there.

Despite having a handful of players becoming available again, I wouldn't be surprised if we see another debut or two.
All of Saunders, Serong, Butler and Long have worked their way into contention imo- Morris also playing his role in the twos quite well.

imo we'll see:
Nash, Impey, Shiels (moves to sub), Callow Howe as the outs
Long, Cj, Lewis, Ward as the ins.

I'm really excited that we've got some exciting depth coming through- I'd love to find a way for us to have Butler, Saunders, Serong and Long all debut as I think at least 2/4 of them will be significant players for us moving forward.

This is a great I idea. and I vote we continue discussing this idea right here in this thread.
